The incumbent at this level serves as a Lead Medical Technologist in the Clinical Laboratory of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine. This position is eligible for the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP), a student loan payment reimbursement program. You must meet specific individual eligibility requirements in accordance with VHA policy and submit your EDRP application within four months of appointment. Approval, award amount (up to $200,000) and eligibility period (one to five years) are determined by the VHA Education Loan Repayment Services program office after complete review of the EDRP application.

Pay: Competitive salary, annual performance bonus, regular salary increases

Duties include but are not limited to:

• Conducts initial psychiatric evaluations, follow-up visits, consultations, group therapy/treatment, medication management, crisis assessment and intervention to Veterans.
• Provide treatment across the full spectrum of DSM 5 diagnoses. Modalities of care include face-to-face interventions as well as telemental health (TMH).
• Provide cross coverage to other clinical sites throughout the Orlando VA Health Care System via telemental health as needed.
• Responsible for providing psychiatric care in an outpatient setting, identifying Veterans' mental and medical health needs and designing diagnostic and therapeutic plans to meet these needs.
• Serves as the medical subject matter expert within their assigned team.
• Coordinate activities of other health service personnel, resolving problems affecting Veteran care, and providing appropriate education for the Veteran and/or family members regarding the Veteran's care, condition, and its management. Care is provided in accordance with VA/DoD Clinical Practice Guidelines as measured by the Peer Review Program and various quality metrics.
• Adhere to all applicable VACO, VISN and Orlando VA policies, rules and regulations and to the Orlando VAHCS Medical Staff Bylaws.
