This is an OPEN CONTINUOUS ANNOUNCEMENT and will remain open for recruitment of Psychiatrists with sub-specialties for Mental Health Service.
Psychiatrists - Major duties and responsibilities include:
Mental Health Connect: Core responsibilities include providing include providing triage and evaluation services to Veterans new to Mental Health. Duties will include consulting with primary care physicians, providing brief and comprehensive mental health assessments as well as time-limited follow up to Veterans not established in specialty mental health. Incumbent must be skilled in general outpatient psychiatry, including diagnostic evaluations, pharmacotherapy and psychotherapy. Competent in the management of individuals with a broad range of clinical problems, including post-traumatic stress disorder, mood, anxiety and psychotic disorders, substance use disorders and psychiatric disorders in the elderly Veteran population.
General Psychiatrist: Core responsibilities include providing comprehensive psychiatric medical care (assessment, consultation, treatment)
to patients on the Mental Health Diamond Team based in Dallas or patients served at the Fort Worth Mental Health Clinic. Physician should be competent in the management of individuals with a broad range of clinical problems, including but not limited to post-traumatic stress disorder, mood, anxiety and psychotic disorders, substance use disorders and psychiatric disorders in the elderly Veteran population.
Addiction Psychiatrist: Core responsibilities include providing comprehensive psychiatric medical care (assessment, consultation, treatment) to patients in the Dallas Mental Health Gold Team, an outpatient clinic focusing on providing care to Veterans with addictions and substance use disorders, or Diamond Team, a general mental health team.
Primary Care - Mental Health Integration Psychiatrist: Core responsibilities include providing integrated mental health care in primary care clinic settings through collaboration with primary care physicians and primary care nurses. Physician should be competent in the management of individuals with a broad range of clinical problems, including but not limited to post-traumatic stress disorder, mood, anxiety and psychotic disorders, substance use disorders and psychiatric disorders in the elderly Veteran population.
Work Schedule: Generally Monday - Friday (8:00 am to 4:30 pm) with light on-call responsibilities but varies by work area. Flexible work tours and telework may be available.
