Main Duties

Operations

-To be aware of and ensure compliance with all aspects of policies and relevant legal and regulatory requirements as directed by the Security Account Manager and in accordance with UK Law and Guidance bodies.

-Fully and satisfactorily complete all of the tasks and duties on site as defined within the published Assignment Instructions (AI's).

-Proactively refer to and review the published Assignment Instructions, thus familiarising oneself with any changes in order to suggest additional amendments that will improve or enhance the current level of service.

-To be compliant with Industry and Statutory Legislation (you are required to obtain a front-line licence in either Security Guarding or Door Supervision), which must be worn at all times whilst carrying out your duties. The Customer also requires a CCTV PSS SIA Licence. There are also additional courses that are contractually required.

-Follow instructions and procedures appropriately without unnecessarily challenging authority.

-Work in a systematic, methodology and orderly way.

Training

-Fully and satisfactorily complete all required competency training.

-You are required to ensure you renew your licence 16 weeks before expiry.

Security and Health & Safety

-Look out for, and to immediately report, any Health & Safety hazards, or potential hazards, on site.

-Stay alert to any threats or changes within the work environment in order to take the appropriate action to reduce the chance of disruption, loss or damage.

-Use common sense and initiative by immediately involving others if a situation appears to become threatening.

-To maintain professional conduct in the face of difficult situations and challenging customers.

-Complete an accurate, detailed notebook entry as soon as possible after any incident, which can then be used as part of the Incident Report process.

-Keep to schedules and demonstrate commitment to Mitie and the Client.

-To ensure check calls are being carried out at the allocated time slot as stipulated in the Assignment Instructions (AI's).

-To call emergency services and Communication Centre to report all incidents.

Your new company
The Probation Service works with around 30,000 offenders a year to support their rehabilitation. Residential Workers work in Approved Premises (AP) to secure homes for offenders who are on release from the prison service and making the transition back into the community. You will be required to keep the AP safe and secure for other members of staff and those currently resident there. Previous experience working within the security industry is required.

Your new role
You will be part of a team providing 24-hour cover within the Approved Premises. This will include both security and care duties. You will be expected to assist in the well-being and supervision of residents, maintaining discipline and adherence to AP rules, whilst remaining social and understanding towards those housed in the AP. This post will involve substantial out of hours work. Working with a 37 hour shift based rota across 7 weeks. Each shift will be 12 hours, so you will not be working everyday of the week.

Duties will include:

* Undertake regular inspections of the building, including cellars and grounds throughout the period of duty, recording any occurrences/damage or defects, and monitor CCTV equipment.

* Maintain an active presence and regularly engage with residents in a pro-social manner.

* Contribute towards the protection of residents, such as assisting with risk assessments.

* Ensure that the AP is locked and secure during the curfew period. Confirm the presence and well-being of all residents overnight.

* Supervise residents' meals, follow prescribed medication procedures including the issuing of medication to residents and both weekly and nightly audit of medication sheets, maintain hostel records and files as required, including data entry.

* Deal with visitors and telephone calls, and monitor the work of visiting contractors in accordance with health and safety.

* You will work 37 hours per week, including unsocial hours and weekends.

Job Summary: OUH has measured its carbon footprint for the activities over which it has control for the Financial Year 2022/23 and 2023/24. This has been split out into Scope 1, 2 and some of the Scope 3 categories. Footprint calculation has identified activities on which to focus. This role entails the development of projects to bring about a reduction in carbon emissions. The Net Zero and Carbon Reduction Projects Programme Manager is therefore responsible for the delivery to time, budget, and quality carbon reduction projects across the Trust. Such projects may be identified by teams within Estates, Procurement or Clinical Services and be targeted to reduce emissions for the OUH Carbon Footprint. The role includes the responsibility of delegated capital and revenue projects (projects), including project and programme management, cost and contract management, procurement management quality management, health & safety, and risk management in support of the Trust objectives. Working within an acute hospital environment, the Programme Manager will be responsible for the planning, prioritising, monitoring and control of all aspects of one or more high value (up to £20 million) and complex capital and revenue projects, including the delivery of energy, travel, water, waste, supply chain and other carbon reduction initiatives across the estate. Communication and stakeholder engagement is essential and understanding of the Trust Governance Structures and the postholder would be expected to have an active role in any internal campaigns to change behaviour or raise awareness. The Programme Manager will use technical knowledge and experience to resolve project issues to ensure the successful delivery to the specified programme, cost, and quality standards. The Programme Manager will also work with external stakeholders, notably suppliers and local Government to develop and embed projects.
