The Medication Management in Pain Management Teams (MMPMT) Clinical Pharmacy Practitioner (CPP) performs the full range of accepted ethical and professional practices of pharmacy, observing all legal requirements. The primary role of the CPP is to provide comprehensive medication management services within the Pain Management Team (PMT).Duties include but are not limited to the following:

The incumbent has full time responsibility for providing expert pharmacotherapy services for patients and professional staff to optimize patient response and resource utilization. • Completes medication reconciliation including updating the medication profile to reflect an accurate, active list of VA and non-VA medications. This may include adding non-VA medications or discontinuing duplicate medications or those the patient is not taking
• Performs drug use evaluations on behalf of national, VISN, local and pharmacy department initiatives as needed.
• Acts as a liaison between Outpatient/Inpatient Pharmacy and the PMOP team regarding Pharmacy Services dispensing policies and regulations
• Acts as a resource for patients and staff regarding Pharmacy Service dispensing policies and regulations.
• Enters supply orders to support medication compliance and accurate medication administration (e.g., syringes, needles, tablet splitters), in accordance with VA medical facility policy.
• Manages out-of-stock situations by substituting alternate dosage strengths and instructions of the same medication equal to the prescribed dose and schedule as approved by the Pharmacy and Therapeutic Committee, including patient education as necessary.
• Implementing VA medical facility policies including therapeutic interchanges and automatic substitutions.
• Reviews and evaluates requests for non-formulary and restricted drugs for appropriateness and compliance with established criteria where applicable.

• Provide training on supported systems using self-developed training materials, or materials obtained from the system developer.

General Psychiatrist: Core responsibilities include providing comprehensive psychiatric medical care (assessment, consultation, treatment)
to patients on the Mental Health Diamond Team based in Dallas or patients served at the Fort Worth Mental Health Clinic. Physician should be competent in the management of individuals with a broad range of clinical problems, including but not limited to post-traumatic stress disorder, mood, anxiety and psychotic disorders, substance use disorders and psychiatric disorders in the elderly Veteran population.

Addiction Psychiatrist: Core responsibilities include providing comprehensive psychiatric medical care (assessment, consultation, treatment) to patients in the Dallas Mental Health Gold Team, an outpatient clinic focusing on providing care to Veterans with addictions and substance use disorders, or Diamond Team, a general mental health team.

The Chief, Strategic Communications (CSC), is tasked with developing, implementing, and monitoring, a comprehensive strategic communications program designed to inform and educate general and specialized groups about the vision, mission, functions, programs, and services offered by the Perry Center. CSC oversees the content and format of WJPC's strategic communications efforts to ensure conformance with established mission and strategic goals. Incumbent oversees the management of all strategic communications activities to ensure both quality and content in developing the organization's guidelines. CSC provides leadership for internal and external projects to meet WJPC's communications needs. Prepares and presents briefings on organizational mission and strategic initiatives through meetings and training sessions. Serves as the primary Perry Center spokesperson and is the first point of contact for the outside media and other DoD and government agencies' Public Affairs and Congressional Offices. The CSC travels as part of the Perry Center team to WJPC events or activities in CONUS and abroad.

The CSC advises the Associate Director for Outreach and Communications, the Chief of Staff, and the Director on all current strategic communications program initiatives and objectives designed to meet the goals established in the Perry Center's strategic plan. Participates in Department of Defense and Inter-Agency conferences concerning long-range planning efforts and strategic communications matters. The CSC collaborates with senior leadership to ensure the organization's strategic and business goals are linked to current performance standards and evaluations of key WJPC programs. Analyzes conflicting views and seeks resolution by presenting sound recommendations, giving equal consideration to various points of view. Incumbent serves as the responsible party, consultant, and advisor for any issues or implications resulting from any strategic communications effort that could impact the organization.
