PRIMARY PURPOSE: to serve as a Foreign Affairs Specialist and a Branch Chief within the Central Division, leading a team of regional area experts, both military and civilian, to build, sustain and expand relationships in the Central Command (CENTCOM) Area of Responsibility (AOR) on behalf of the Secretary of the Air Force.

DUTIES:

1. Responsible for recommending and implementing policy guidance for the direction, integration, management and supervision of international programs and activities affiliated with the Department of the Air Force concerning country and/or regional responsibility.

DUTY 1:
Perform career broadening assignments working with senior analyst in planning, organizing, and directing logistics programming support for identified systems/programs. This includes the development, review, validation, and substantiation of current and long-range logistics requirements to support worldwide mission objectives. Develops, coordinates, and issues comprehensive guidance and procedures to be used by subordinate commands and field activities in the execution of budget/buy/modification/maintenance support for these systems/programs. Plans and conducts studies, and develops input for logistics policies and procedural systems applied throughout the MAJCOM. DUTY 2:
Serves as a team member performing career broadening assignments involved in programming, prioritizing and defending key logistics programs in support of the warfighting objectives of the Air Force. Prepares, executes, and manages one or more programs for AMC sustainment. Develops and justify budget estimates and reviews procedures and techniques to be used in the buy/budget program proposals and evaluations. Evaluates OSD and agency logistics guidelines and instructions to determine necessary changes in requirements computations, logistics planning, etc. Issues initial and revised procurement authorizations covering the fending elves managed. Participates in the analysis of the progress and status of directed programs. Initiates reprogramming actions when necessary. Analyzes and assesses operating logistics programs in order to correlate resource requirements to achieve plans and objectives. 1. Serves as the principal scientific/technical advisor and primary authority for the technical content of the Department of the Air Force S&T portfolio. Evaluates the DAF technical research program to determine its adequacy and efficiency in meeting national, DoD, and DAF objectives in core technology areas. Identifies research gaps and analyzes advancements in a broad variety of scientific fields to advise on their impact on DAF programs and mission objectives.
