About The Role:

The company are seeking a highly organised and detail-oriented Accounts Controller to manage and oversee their financial operations. This key role ensures the accuracy and efficiency of financial records, contributing to the smooth running of the organisation’s accounting processes.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in financial management, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to work collaboratively within a team.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

Sales/Purchase Ledger & Credit Control:

• Raise, send and track invoices.
• Chasing invoices and dealing with remittances and queries
• Request Purchase orders.
• Complete and send Job reports and other related paperwork to customers
• Maintain, analyse and summarise the general accounts and ledgers, for the Directors to be able to make informed decisions.
• Accounts Reconciliation i.e. Bank, credit cards, sales & purchase orders
• Prepare and run end of month payments.
• Ensure all financial transactions are recorded, documented and reported in the correct manner
• Assist in the preparation and completion of VAT returns and creating financial reports for Accountant
• Enter employee expenses onto SAGE
• Process Income Tax, National insurance and payroll contributions
• Ensure the Company's Quality procedures are adhered to within the department
• Ensure the integrity of the Company's ledgers and associated systems
• Identify ongoing training needs within the department and make suitable recommendations for action
• To seek improvements in the Company's information systems (manual and electronic)


Administration / Data Entry & General:

• Filing of sales, purchase orders and other documents
• Reporting – Input and log service data for contracts, warranties and income reports

Person Specification:

What you will be doing

The Hold Point Manager plays a crucial role in coordinating with the commissioning and Pre-Operations teams, ensuring that hold points are released efficiently and meet the required quality standards to enable construction progress. With this, your responsibilities include:

What you’ll be doing

What you will be doing

You'll collaborate with the Senior Construction Logistics Manager and Senior Logistics Operations Manager to develop a feasible logistics plan that addresses capacity constraints. Working with the Head of Logistics, you'll recommend a long-term logistics baseline and manage the Logistics Capacity leads to ensure accurate data inputs into the plan. You'll also partner with functional data owners to maintain data accuracy and build strong relationships with internal stakeholders and third-party logistics partners. By fostering communication within the team, you'll optimise planning activities and support KPI reporting on logistics planning capability. Additional responsibilities include:


- Define the Logistics capacity baseline plan for delivering services in alignment with the Project plan.
- Identify and highlight key risks and issues that may impact the long-term logistics planning horizon (Product Lifecycle Management).
- Responsible for updating the logistics capacity plan, consolidating inputs from various sources.
- Lead the identification, communication, and management of risks, gaps, and changes to the plan, coordinating actions and escalations for identified constraints.
- Ensure integration of logistics into the Integrated Planning process and governance.
- Manage logistics capacity and constraints across long, mid, and short-term planning horizons.
- Chair the Logistics Capacity Planning meeting, reviewing 4
- and 16-week logistics plans and addressing constraints.
- Monitor and support the mitigation action plan to ensure resolution of identified risks or constraints.


Who you are

With a strong delivery focus, you excel at influencing stakeholders and driving results through data analysis and logistics planning. You have in-depth knowledge of logistics and planning methodologies, along with a solid understanding of engineering, procurement, and construction methods in the UK. Experienced in NEC and FIDIC contracts, you also possess strong skills in logistics risk analysis and decision-making. Your exceptional communication, leadership, and problem-solving abilities, paired with attention to detail, enable you to manage complex projects. What you will be doing

You will lead teams in maintaining accurate Construction Logistics reporting, ensuring logistics meet performance standards and KPIs. Accountable for implementing logistics and project control techniques, you’ll drive improvements to logistics systems within your scope. You will assess and represent changes in Programme budgets, analyse project trends to identify risks and opportunities, and champion governance and logistics standards. Additionally, you’ll ensure all project documents, including sensitive nuclear information, are properly protected in accordance with EDF policies. Additional roles and responsibilities include:


- Drive an outcome-focused Construction Logistics framework, highlighting risks and interdependencies while aligning strategic and delivery-level reporting.
- Facilitate comprehensive review and challenge of project-level reporting, ensuring timely and accurate information on risks and interfaces, supporting decision-making at all levels.
- Lead the development and delivery of strategies while managing interdependencies to ensure prioritisation and timely decision-making.
- Champion best practices and continuous improvement across Construction Logistics by capturing and sharing operational insights and lessons learned.
- Review and validate information to provide clear visibility to key stakeholders, from local teams to senior executives.
- Analyse data to identify risks and make evidence-based decisions, using a systematic approach to drive Logistics strategy, especially under pressure.
- Deliver clear, concise insights to executives, using commercial and technical data to influence decisions and ensure effective Logistics management.
- Foster collaboration across departments to achieve successful outcomes aligned with HPC project values: Humility, Positivity, Respect, Solidarity, and Clarity.
- Apply project controls principles, leading cross-functional teams to drive effective, outcome-based sessions.
- Oversee schedule and cost updates due to forecasting changes, working with teams to understand risk impacts and mitigation strategies.
- Lead, coach, and support the Construction Logistics team, ensuring the use of standardised processes and high-quality delivery.


Who you are

With strong leadership and a deep understanding of Logistics management, you navigate complex contract types like NEC and FIDIC. You apply risk analysis techniques with excellent analytical and numerical skills, ensuring accuracy and attention to detail. Your ability to build relationships, communicate effectively at all levels, and provide actionable reports supports strategic decision-making. You understand how changes impact project delivery and use critical thinking to manage those effects. With expertise in estimating, scheduling, change management, and risk management, you drive successful project outcomes. Additional requirements for this role include:


- Extensive expertise in construction and logistics operations, offering valuable insights into operational needs.
- Proven experience in logistics planning and operations, particularly within major capital projects in construction or related industries.
- Skilled in delivering precise project insights to drive evidence-based decisions, leveraging commercial and technical data to influence outcomes and manage construction logistics effectively.
- Strong understanding of how decisions and changes impact project risk profiles and logistics delivery.
- Exceptional analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving abilities.
- Clear and concise communicator, adept at simplifying complex issues for both technical and non-technical senior audiences.
- Excellent organisational and time management skills.
- Collaborative approach to working across teams and organisational boundaries to achieve shared goals.


You should hold a bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience, ideally with logistics-specific qualifications. Senior-level expertise in leading logistics teams within complex, regulated industries (e.g., nuclear, aerospace, or large infrastructure) is essential, along with experience in integration management and stakeholder engagement. A health and safety qualification is required. Proficiency in logistics frameworks, technology solutions, and major project delivery, coupled with proven leadership and team empowerment skills, is vital.
