The primary purpose of this position is: To serve as a first level supervisor, providing planning, directing, organizing, and exercising control over nonsupervisory employees assigned to 57th Operations Support Squadron, Airfield Operations Flight (OSA). To provide air traffic control (ATC) services to military and civilian aircraft operating in a RADAR environment using instrument flight rules (IFR) and visual flight rules (VFR) providing for the safe, orderly, and expeditious flow of air traffic. To provide non-radar services in allocated airspace in the event of radar outages.
- Plans, organizes, and directs the activities of 57 Operations Support Squadron, ensuring that Nellis Air Traffic Control Facility complies with legal and regulatory requirements and meets customer needs
- Exercises supervisory personnel management responsibilities
- Represents the 57 Operations Support Squadron with a variety of installation and functional area organizations
- Provides leadership and mentoring to all assigned air traffic control personnel
- Maintains certification requirements
