As a Biological Science Technician (Sea Lamprey) your duties will include, but are not limited to, the following:

• Leads and ensures completion of the daily fieldwork of same and lower grade employees and contractors at remote locations following standard protocols without direct daily contact with supervisor.
• Provides technical support and participates with other team members to conduct lampricide treatments, alternative controls, and assessment operations including pesticide application, chemical analysis of water, quality assurance procedures, bioassay tests, measurement of stream flow characteristics, velocity and discharge, sea lamprey sterilization, collection of biological specimens, instream and offshore assessments, studies to determine the distribution, growth and abundance of sea lampreys in the larval, parasitic and spawning life stages, and to measure the effect of lamprey control to non-target species.

• Operates, maintains, repairs, fabricates and occasionally designs highly specialized fishery equipment (equipment for mixing and delivering concentration of liquid and powder forms of lampricides, lamprey sterilization equipment, fish holding and hauling facilities, water filtration apparatus, water sampling devices, electrofishing gear, electrical/mechanical weirs, nets, trawls and traps).
• Operates, maintains, and repairs motorized watercraft up to 26', non-motorized watercraft, and ATVs and operates and maintains light, medium and heavy-weight trucks and trailers on public highways and off-road situations.

Physical Capability: Much of the work is performed in a field environment and involves arduous labor. The incumbent is required to be in excellent physical condition and capable of rigorous outdoor activities, including safely hiking over wet, rough, steep, slippery or rocky terrain. Work requires frequent bending, stooping, walking, standing, working in cramped positions, climbing, and prolonged standing on concrete floors. Duties of the position occasionally require driving on unimproved roads, considerable walking on steep terrain (80 percent or more), working in water with boots or waders, walking through or working in heavily timbered areas (sometimes walking 5 or more miles), at times carrying heavy packs, lifting and moving objects over 50 pounds, bending, crouching, stooping, stretching, reaching, climbing, or other similar activities. The Airfield Operations Specialist is responsible for coordinating and maintaining liaison with military, federal, and local agencies concerning airspace utilization, flying operations, aircraft emergencies, search and rescue operations, and natural disasters. Provides direct support to unit and other military and civilian aircrews, during scheduled and unscheduled flying and ground activities. Provides aircrews with information and assistance, necessary for planning and conducting safe flight operations.

DUTIES
1. Incumbent processes flight plans, conducting necessary research and/or queries in the coordination of scheduled flights. Conducts briefings to communicate information required by aviators, including status of navigational aids (NAVAIDs), Notices to Airmen (NOTAMs), weather information, bird and wildlife conditions, alerts and advisories, airfield/runway conditions and closures, construction hazards, closed areas, and other pertinent known traffic and airfield conditions.

2. Assists the Airfield Operations Officer in the research and evaluation of airfield data, specific to airfield facilities, construction plans for the airfield, and changes/modifications- to airfield construction projects and/or priority adjustments. Compiles data and conducts analysis to facilitate and continually improve airfield operations, to include information and management channels, programs, and devices.

3. Participates in the scheduling of airfield activities with tenant and transient unit commands, requiring use of the airfield. Processes and approves/disapproves prior permission requirements (PPR), civil aircraft landing permits (CALPs), and Army aircraft landing authorization numbers (AALAN). As required, determines minimum liability insurance requirements and determines mission validity.

4. Performs daily airfield inspections/checks for conditions, physical security, and force protection to ensure a safe airfield environment. Conducts inspections of runways, taxiways, aprons for discrepancies, foreign object debris, runway safety/clear zone violations, runway incursions, flightline driving program compliance, runway surface conditions, security, bird/wildlife hazards, construction activities, pavement conditions, and other items that pose a significant adverse effect to safe aircraft operations.

This position is located in an Army National Guard (ARNG) Air Traffic Control Tower. The primary purpose of this position is to provide tower Air Traffic Control (ATC) services to military and civilian aircraft operating under Instrument Flight Rules (IFR) and Visual Flight Rules (VFR). Incumbent also functions as an ATC Specialist/ATC Training Specialist with responsibility for guiding and training for Air Traffic Controller trainees.

DUTIES
1. Performs air traffic control duties in the control tower. Directs movement of aircraft in flight and on the ground by utilizing pilot and controller reports, visual observation, and/or tower displays, or a combination of methods and in close coordination with other controllers. under restrictive time and space limitations, formulates and issues ATC clearances and instructions to provide for the required separation and or sequencing of all IFR and VFR traffic within delegated airspace.

2. Executes the standardized ATC training program in accordance with guidelines established by regulations of the Department of Army (DA), Department of Defense (DoD), and Federal Aviation Administration (FAA). Incumbent is responsible for the utilization of training materials that ensure controller-trainees are adequately trained and tested with the goal of creating a cohesive ATC team that provides multi-level ATC services to the aviation customer. Incumbent ensures all newly assigned trainees receive training in accordance with applicable regulations.

3. Operates, trains, and provides preventative maintenance on a host of automated communications and display hardware and software systems that are integral and vital to the operation of the air traffic control facility. Maintains communications with aircraft and adjacent facilities to transmit and receive instructions and information relative to flight.

4. Evaluates weather reports from automated (ASOS, AWADS, IDS, etc.) or other sources (i.e. Pilot Reports) and ensures weather information is accurate, specific, and timely. Modifies, corrects, or augments as appropriate for official weather reporting. Provides dissemination of weather warnings, Center Weather Advisories (CWA), Significant Meteorological Information (SIGMET), or Meteorological Information (MET) watch advisories.

5. Conducts and directs aircraft mishap and hazardous air traffic systems reporting. Serves as the focal point on the airfield for ground or airborne aircraft mishaps, system reports on hazardous air traffic activities, and ATC and pilot incident inquiries.

Program Management
- The Management and Program Analyst is responsible for human resource processes, to include, but not limited to, entering recruitment requests, coordinate credentialing paperwork, and onboarding requirements such as Compensation Panel and computer access requests.
- He/she will assist the Service Administrative Officer in all matters pertaining to the periodic equipment inventory process. This will include working with Logistics and Biomed, and Engineering staff to locate, track, and appropriately disposition all equipment listed in the Service EIL's.
- The incumbent has oversight responsibility for the GIP/Purchasing process, ensuring that VAAAHS, National, and VISN 10 standards are met. He/she will implement corrections to the process if the standards are not met. This coordination will entail working directly with the Logistics GIP/Purchasing Agent, the Supply Technician, and the facility GIP Team.

Physician Coordination and Clinic Grids
- The incumbent is responsible for coordinating all aspects of Physician hiring for Ambulatory Care Services. This includes recruitment, retention, salary determination, credentialing, and privileging. Additionally, this person will be responsible for Physician Productivity measures in relation to other class 1a facilities; they will perform in-depth analysis/audits for areas below the 25% or above the 75% developing action plans for submission to COS and facility director.
- The incumbent will manage all activities related to the residency program. He/she will initiate all necessary organizational procedures involved in maintaining an active residency program. Close coordination with the University of Michigan is necessary to effectively execute these
responsibilities thus requiring the incumbent to develop and maintain a close working relationship with the Residency Program at the University of Michigan. He/she will facilitate the scheduling for diverse Patient Align Care Team (PACT) teaching exposures for learners. The incumbent will assist with modifying and building new clinic grids for Primary Care Providers.

Data Capture and Coordination
- The incumbent will independently manage, analyze, and coordinate all decisions associated with Decision Support Services (DSS) activities within the Service. These duties will include meeting with various Section Chiefs within the Service, DSS (Finance) staff, and staff within the Service to
strategize and apply a problem-solving approach to supply cost distribution and labor mapping.
- The incumbent will identify necessary changes in cost distribution related to RVU's and determine the appropriate corrections as necessary. He/she will also periodically but routinely review with staff labor and supply mapping and product costing in order to ensure accuracy. In addition, incumbent
will coordinate the completion of annua1 Physician Service Agreements as well as Agreements for incoming staff physicians.

Contract Coordination
The incumbent is responsible for the processes involved in the coordination of all contracts with the department. The creation of contracts consists of preparing the documentation required and submission through appropriate leadership channels. Contracts often require close consultation
with local Logistics and national Contracting staff to complete these processes, and the required maintenance of these agreements throughout the life of the contract. The incumbent will assist AO with equipment and procurement requests.

The Peer Specialist functions as an interdisciplinary team member, assisting professional and non-professional personnel as part of an interdisciplinary treatment team. Peer specialists perform a variety of therapeutic and supportive tasks that include assisting Veterans in articulating their goals for recovery and personal wellness, learning, and practicing new skills, as well as helping veterans monitor their progress, assisting them in their treatment, modeling effective coping techniques and self-help strategies based on the peer specialist's own recovery experience, and supporting them in advocating for themselves to obtain effective services. This position will serve as a community-based peer specialist within the local VA facility catchment area. The working environment may include providing peer support services in places such as Veterans' homes, prisons, jails, treatment courts, shelters, tent encampments, street outreach, etc.

• Participates in the service, training, consultation, and other professional activities of VA health care services and functions as a fully vested member of the multidisciplinary team.

The Extended Care Service Community Living Center Staff Nurse is a Professional Nurse with broad-based clinical knowledge enabling him/her to effectively implement health promotion, disease prevention, and management for adult or older adult residents requiring skilled Nursing interventions in a long term care setting. CLC Staff Nurses typically provide care for residents with complex, mixed chronic medical and/or psychiatric conditions, residents with cognitive impairments, and residents who are terminally ill. The CLC Staff Nurse utilizes the Nursing process when assessing, planning, implementing, evaluating, and documenting Nursing care provided. He/she works collaboratively with the interdisciplinary team when planning and providing care to Nursing Home residents and their families. The Staff Nurse functions independently as a charge Nurse on the unit, organizing and delegating care activities to other RNs, LPNs, and NAs and providing feedback to the Nurse Manager regarding the practice of others in order to improve care. He/she may either direct the care of other Staff members or provide direct patient care depending on the needs of the unit.
