As the Executive Director you will play a pivotal role in the strategic leadership, growth, and management of our client associations. You will be responsible for providing direction to a team of professionals and ensuring the achievement of ACCC’s goals and objectives. This position requires a dynamic leader with a deep understanding of association management, excellent communication skills, and the ability to cultivate strong relationships with members, partners, and stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Strategic Leadership:
- Develop and implement association-specific strategies, ensuring alignment with client goals.
- Provide visionary leadership to drive organizational growth and success.
- Monitor industry trends and adapt association strategies accordingly.
2. Association Management:
- Work with teams, including membership services, event planning, financial management, and communications.
- Manage association budgets, financial planning, and reporting.
- Lead board and committee meetings, providing support to board members.
3. Member Engagement:
- Cultivate strong relationships with association members, ensuring their needs and concerns are addressed.
- Develop and execute membership retention and recruitment strategies.
- Collaborate with members on various initiatives to enhance engagement and value.
4. Partnership and Sponsorship:
- Identify and work with a team to secure partnerships, sponsorships, and strategic alliances to support association objectives.
- Manage relationships with sponsors and partners, ensuring their expectations are met.
5. Team Management:
- Lead and mentor a team of association professionals, fostering a collaborative and productive work environment.
- Assign tasks and provide guidance to team members to ensure successful project execution.
6. Advocacy and Public Relations:
- Represent the association to the public, media, and government entities.
- Promote the association's mission and objectives through effective communication and advocacy efforts.
Qualifications:
• Advanced health sciences or business degree or equivalent experience level.
• Seven to ten years of experience working in cancer care delivery in a health care delivery system, association, professional society, or related field.
• Two to four years of experience working in or with the pharmaceutical industry preferred.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills and comfort with speaking and presenting in front of high-level stakeholders to articulate clients’ needs accurately and effectively.
• Strong customer service focus.
• Ability to work independently and cross-departmentally with minimal supervision.
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, effectively manage time, prioritize work, meet required deadlines, and multi-task across assignments.
• A passion for influencing the future of cancer care delivery.
• Availability for overnight travel to attend meetings and provide on-site assistance, estimated at approximately 50%.
