Job Purpose

The Senior Director of Digital Strategy leads the Corporate Strategy function for the Alcon Digital Health organization, develops long-range investment plans, monitors the competitive landscape, makes data-driven recommendations on digital program choices, and ensures alignment between digital product roadmap and the Global Franchise.

Essential Job Functions

Strategic Planning and Business Planning

• Lead the annual strategic planning exercise, including long-range sales forecasts, digital portfolio management, and evaluation of key strategic topics
• Identify internal and external trends that could affect growth, profitability, and the ability for Alcon to execute it digital agenda
• Create/maintain valuation models for proposed projects  
• Make recommendations for trade-offs in the digital roadmap funnel (e.g., by pressure-testing business cases and guiding portfolio analytics to estimate value)  
• Assist the Global Head of Digital in aligning the organization with the strategy, driving change efforts and ensuring the progression of business initiatives
• Partner with Global Product Directors to shape/refine digital roadmap category strategies (product, GTM), ensuring alignment with overarching Franchise and Alcon objectives    
• Develop CEO and Board of Directors level communications as well as content for quarterly business reviews
• Prepare acquisition proposals, recommend financial and non-financial strategic objectives and alternatives, and implement strategic and operational plans, including organizational structures 
   

Cross-Functional Coordination:

• Partner with functional leadership (e.g., Franchise, R&D, Commercial) to prioritize core projects, ensure alignment between digital product roadmaps and the Global Franchise, and ensure decisions reflect the long-term interest of the business      
• Conduct periodic reviews of digital project resource requirements and annual portfolio evaluations
   

Standard Minimum Requirements 

• Education: Minimum: B.S. /B.A. in Business, Science, Engineering. Advanced degree such as MBA, JD, MD highly preferred

Experience:

• Minimum 12 years relevant experience +8 years leading people; preferred 4+ years top-tier management consulting experience
• Leadership:  Strong proven leader of businesses, brands and people. Visionary, strategic, collaborative and driven
• Relevant end-to-end experience developing and launching digital products (e.g., agile methods, product design, go-to-market models, etc.), ideally in regulated healthcare environments  
• Excellent analytical skills (problem structuring and problem solving) and understanding of financial analysis / valuation
• Ability to review and analyze and interpret data and make recommendations
• Advanced project management skills
• Ability to influence and map knowledge flow within an organization
• Excellent communication and conceptual synthesis skills
• Proven ability to collaborate effectively across a global, matrixed environment
• Passionate, positive attitude with proven ability to motivate and cultivate high performing teams

• Direct submission development of product registration, progress reports, supplements, amendments, and/or periodic experience reports

• Responsible for Corporate RA SOPs regarding labeling and sets boundaries and/or coordinate with RA affiliates on local labeling procedures. Own RA Labeling process and current project work under project Clear.
• Represent RA in the Labeling Change Review Board.
• Be the counterpart to the GSC Labeling Head and be involved with cross-functional decisions and critical issue pathways.
• Share responsibility with GRA strategists for decision-making on bundling and/or deferring proposed label changes, and/or deviations to label requirements.
• Coordinate and lead close partnership with the GRA team and support a broad portfolio for Labeling.
• Anticipate and provide assessments of changing regulations and mentorship and identify any required changes to internal Labeling policies and processes as the Labeling RA SME.
• Develop and lead global Labeling regulatory strategies to improve the value of the portfolio.

As an Associate Director, Technical Accounting supporting our Finance Reporting & Accounting (FRA) team, you will be trusted to assist the Heads of FRA Operations, Technical Accounting, Consolidation and Reporting, and External Reporting in ensuring accounting compliance with IFRS. This Associate Director is also responsible for reviewing potential Business Development & Licensing and Merger & Acquisitions deals for optimal accounting treatment, and assisting in the financial due diligence on these transactions. This role also processes monthly analysis/review of financial statements, including balance sheet, cash flows, summary of intangible assets, and other income and expense.

In this role, a typical day will include:

• Provide assistance in the quarterly and annual intangible impairment review/testing procedures; maintaining Sarbanes-Oxley Act processes for FRA Operations global controls; and various monthly/quarterly reporting activities for the FRA Operations.
• Provide accounting / reporting support as SPOC/Subject Matter Expert for identified function, region, and for identified areas of technical accounting.
• Responsible for accounting compliance with IFRS as interpreted by Group and includes the following:
  • Monitoring developments in IFRS and US GAAP and setting accounting policies for FRA Operations in conjunction with Group and communicating these policies to the local entities, FRA Operations, Business Units (BU’s) function, etc.
  • Investigating financial accounting policy issues, recommending, and implementing actions as appropriate.
  • Providing technical accounting support to local entities, regions and functions (in line with the responsibility matrix) for complex / significant matters, preparing / reviewing appropriate accounting documentation (Accounting Position Paper) in line with matrix for approval of accounting issues.
  • Responsibility for impairment reviews (critical review of data provided by other functions, challenging assumptions, meeting with business partners, preparation of supporting documentation, coordination of reviews by management and PwC and following up on any review issues).
  • Reviewing potential Business, Development & Licensing (BD&L) for FRA Operations deals in order to assess the accounting treatment under IFRS, preparation of accounting documentation for the deals / review and sign off accounting documentation.
  • Reviewing potential acquisitions, to provide the M&A team with input on any accounting implications, preparing purchase price accounting and relevant acquisition models for completed FRA Operations acquisitions, obtaining appropriate sign offs as required under Sarbanes-Oxley.
  • Maintaining the various requirements of the Sarbanes-Oxley Act for the FRA Operations in conjunction with established processes.
  • Responsible for analyzing the FRA Operations and balance sheet, cash flow, other operating income and expense, intangible assets and provisions, and other elements associated with the specific activities of functions supported by FRA Operations TA (including product costing and development) and driving improvements in the process and presentation of the output.
  • Rolling out improvements in the process and documentation to the Regions and local entities as appropriate.
  • Supporting IFRS to US GAAP conversion readiness.
  • Preparing and/or reviewing training material content for FRA, including instructing assigned sessions.

POSITION SUMMARY:
The Senior Active Directory Engineer provides support, implementation, and design services for Microsoft Active Directory and Windows-based systems across the enterprise, including directory and identity management solutions. Resolves and appropriately completes assigned tasks and change requests and acts as an escalation for support issues. Applies new solutions through research and collaboration with team and determines course of action for new application initiatives.
