The Analytic Transformation & Governance Team is the central pillar for propelling a rapid transformation within the recently formed Commercial Analytics & AI (CAAI) organization at Pfizer. This organization is made up of various functional areas including Insight Strategy & Execution, Market Research Insights, Data Science and AI, and Analytic Engineering. Our core objective is to facilitate and guide this organization through its transformative journey by delivering crucial initiatives, tools, and capabilities. We are seeking a Director, Analytic Strategic Initiatives – Governance who will lead Analytic Budget Planning, Reporting and Governance for the CAAI organization. This role will work closely with Senior Leaders in CAAI, Finance, Chief Marketing Office, and People Experience to meet our budget planning, spend tracking, and cost governance needs.
This is an important role as budget captain for an organization of 350+ people and 5 verticals and accountability for overseeing a budget in the ~$200M+ range. The Director of Analytic Strategic Initiatives is a respected trust partner to Senior Leaders with deep technical expertise and ability to develop, manage, and execute programs and processes related to budget management, budget governance, and analytics ROI. This role will balance the needs of multiple stakeholders and functional teams within the CAAI organization, making sound recommendations based on data, analytics, solid tracking and judgement.
The desired candidate embodies a holistic skill set essential for this role. A seasoned self-started who possesses ability to influence without direct authority. A robust track record in project management, particularly overseeing budget reporting, budget tracking, and governance for large organizations. Coupled with proficiency in various analytic capabilities and experience with designing and executing organization-wide transformation initiatives and processes.

Role Responsibilities:
Budget Management
- Provide accurate budget and headcount tracking information to senior leaders, supporting strategic decision-making.
- Develop mechanism to track and oversee budget allocation by team, expense tracking and hiring trends that aligns with budget goals.
- Provide monthly budget and headcount tracking commentary to CAAI leadership.
- Conduct monthly project expense reviews with senior leaders and project owners
- Coordinate operating plans and forecasts with Finance, meeting all forecast planning timelines.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to preempt budget risks and ensure effective and proactive communication of risks or challenges.
Budget Governance
- Develop and implement budget governance frameworks to ensure effective allocation and management of resources within the CAAI organization
- Design and deploy new processes and tools for monitoring cost spend, cost savings, and cost avoidance initiatives, providing real-time visibility into budget performance.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify opportunities to optimize spending and streamline expenses further
- Establish to track and measure the effectiveness of cost-saving initiatives and streamline spending processes.
- Conduct regular reviews and analysis of budget utilization, identifying areas for improvement and implementing corrective actions as needed.
- Provide strategic guidance and recommendations to senior leadership on cost-saving strategies and opportunities for operational efficiency enhancements.
- Lead cross-functional projects aimed at driving cost optimization initiatives, working closely with stakeholders to ensure alignment with goals
Oversee Analytic ROI across CAAI
- Develop and refine processes for tracking, monitoring, and reporting analytics Return on Investment (ROI) across various initiatives within CAAI
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather data and quantify benefits derived from analytics-driven initiatives – cost savings, cost avoidance, and overall business impact.
- Create standardized reporting templates and dashboards to communicate analytics ROI metrics and success stories to stakeholders, including senior leadership and key business partners.
- Lead efforts to identify and prioritize success stories involving significant cost savings, cost avoidance, and other measurable business outcomes, leveraging quantitative analysis and storytelling techniques.
- Conduct regular assessments and analyses to evaluate the effectiveness of analytics investments and identify opportunities for optimization and improvement.
- Serve as a subject matter expert on analytics ROI measurement and reporting best practices, providing guidance and support to team members and stakeholders as needed.
Qualifications:
- 10+ years of experience in strategy, consulting, finance, marketing and/or analytics, preferably in the pharmaceutical or healthcare space
- BA/BS required, MBA or advanced degree in a related field preferred but not required.
- Familiarity with modern marketing and analytic strategies, with experience in leading or supporting analytic transformation initiatives as a bonus.
- Knowledgeable in strategy, innovation management, business, and organizational transformation.
- Proficiency in various business processes, governance, program
- Experience with reporting and communicating results and recommendations to Senior Leadership.
- Advanced working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Teams. SAP knowledge is a plus.

The annual base salary for this position ranges from $149,200.00 to $248,600.00. In addition, this position is eligible for participation in Pfizer’s Global Performance Plan with a bonus target of 20.0% of the base salary and eligibility to participate in our share based long term incentive program.
