As a Practice Lead for Parsons, you will be responsible for the strategic & operational direction of a very diverse, world-class team, including the management of profitable growth, client development and driving excellence in project delivery. Additional responsibilities include leveraging key accounts, closely coordinating and collaborating across business lines while providing innovative leadership. The successful candidate will mentor and develop an established group delivering bridge, tunnel, road, and highway infrastructure programs in Ohio. Our Practice Lead must be an effective “seller/doer”, able to balance business development, operational management, and project management responsibilities simultaneously.
The ideal location for this position is our Cincinnati, OH office, but hybrid and telecommute options are available for the right candidate.

Qualifications
- 4-year degree in Civil Engineering or related technical/business field.
- 15+ years of managing diverse infrastructure projects with a track record of successful project delivery on Ohio projects.
- Demonstrable experience meeting operational business goals and strategizing on market development. Experience must include P&L ownership and the ability to meet or exceed sales, operating profit & margin, and DSO targets.
- Able to foster collaboration across multiple market sectors and business lines including our Rail, Aviation, Industrial, and Federal Solutions groups
- Experience leading and participating in business development activities.
- Licensed Professional Engineer in Ohio, with considerable experience in the Ohio Market.

The main aspects to this role are Project Management, Pursuit Management, Operations, Technical and Business Development.
Project Management
Manage scope, schedule, and budget of highway projects. Develop scope and fee and negotiate new contracts Client management Change order management Identify staffing requirements.
Operations Responsibilities:
Work with other Project Managers, technical managers and Regional Manager to appropriately assign engineering staff for the benefit of project delivery and pursuit success. Collaborate with other managers within the Region to successfully plan, implement, and execute the goals, projects and pursuits of the Region. Identify and support implementation of technology initiatives applicable to the advancement of the transportation practice. Lead the transportation team in Cincinnati. Grow headcount by recruiting and retaining top talent.
Technical Responsibilities:
Collaborate with other managers to provide technical guidance and quality oversight for projects and pursuits. Seek opportunities, and foster same for others, to make presentations and write articles to earn a reputation as an industry leader and promote Parsons as the gold standard in the industry. Engage and serve in leadership positions within professional organizations – seek growth opportunities, stay abreast of local industry news, engage with clients and counterparts to raise the profile of Parsons in the industry.
Business Development Responsibilities:
Support BD efforts in the region including target planning and teaming development in collaboration with the BD staff and under the direction of the Regional Manager.
Serve as a Capture Manager and Project Manager for key pursuits. Other responsibilities include:
External:
Attend regularly scheduled key client meetings. This includes meetings for specific projects, and interaction with client staff. Maintain current knowledge of project pipeline for key clients – this includes project opportunities ranging from traditional projects to APD. In addition to being aware of what is currently in the published plans, acquire knowledge of upcoming opportunities that has not yet been made known publicly.
Internal:
Participate in writing/editing proposals, pricing and pricing reviews of proposals. Lead proposal and proposal review efforts (Pink, Red, Tiger teams) and become integral to the success of the company. Communicate relevant client news with Operations and Business Development sharing information that could be important to our pursuit success. Participate in BD strategy meetings providing Operations input– this includes the bi-weekly meetings, as well as any periodic meetings that are held.

Salary Range:
$136,200.00 - $245,200.00
