Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and passionate Bar Manager to lead our bar team at Katana Peterborough. The Bar Manager will be responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of the bar, ensuring exceptional customer service, developing beverage menus, and maintaining high standards of quality and profitability. Responsibilities:
Bar Operations and Service:
Oversee all aspects of bar operations, including inventory management, beverage preparation, and customer service.
Ensure smooth workflows and efficient service, optimizing speed, accuracy, and customer satisfaction.
Monitor and maintain cleanliness, hygiene, and safety standards in the bar area.
Train and mentor bartenders, ensuring they are knowledgeable about beverage offerings, ingredients, and preparation techniques.
Promote a welcoming and engaging bar atmosphere, interacting with customers and providing recommendations when needed.
Beverage Menu Development:
Develop and update the beverage menu, incorporating Japanese Pan Asian-inspired cocktails, sake, and other specialty beverages.
Source and select high-quality ingredients, collaborating with the kitchen team to ensure alignment with the overall culinary concept.
Create innovative and visually appealing cocktails, considering flavor profiles, current trends, and customer preferences.
Continuously evaluate and refine the beverage menu based on customer feedback, sales performance, and market trends.
Collaborate with suppliers to negotiate pricing, ensure timely deliveries, and maintain a diverse selection of beverages.
Staff Management and Training:

Create bartender schedules, ensuring adequate coverage and efficient utilization of resources.

Financial Management:
Monitor and analyze beverage sales, costs, and profitability, implementing strategies to maximize revenue and control expenses.

Collaborate with the Restaurant Manager to develop and adhere to budgets, providing insights and recommendations for financial performance improvement.
Ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements related to the sale and service of alcoholic beverages.
Collaborate with the marketing team to develop and execute bar-related promotional activities and events.
Qualifications:
Proven experience as a Bar Manager or similar role, preferably in a Japanese Pan Asian restaurant or upscale bar.
In-depth knowledge of Japanese Pan Asian cuisine, mixology, and beverage trends.
Strong leadership and managerial skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a diverse team.
Excellent customer service and communication skills, with a focus on guest satisfaction.
