The Facilities Manager is responsible for the delivery and management of cost effective and proactive operational facilities management at New County Hall, Truro, which will include cleaning services, Health & Safety and the welfare of the workforce.

The post holder will also have responsibility for managing and monitoring contract delivery, ensuring compliance with all working standards and directives whilst driving continuous improvement, performance management and efficiency at all levels across the site. About you

The ideal candidate will have BICS technical/ managerial qualification/ NVQ4 or equivalent knowledge and experience, with membership of a relevant professional organisation (e.g. British Institute of Facilities Management (BIFM), Facilities Management Association (FMA) and preferably a NEBOSH Certificate or equivalent.

You should also demonstrate:

Your new role
As a Building Safety Manager, you will be at the forefront of ensuring all aspects of fire safety and general safety and are legally compliant and aligned with policies.

• Fire safety compliance - ensuring all fire safety measures are legally compliant.
• Building safety management - liaising with the building safety regulator and fire services.
• Expert advice - provide clear and expert guidance on safety matters to all stakeholders and customers.
• Leadership - lead and manage across all aspects of legal compliance, including fire risk assessments, asbestos removals, lift and lifting equipment, radon management.
• Responsible person - serve as the legally named responsible person for fire, asbestos, legionella, and lift regulations.
• Contract management - oversee the management and administration of contracts.
• Team leadership - motivate your team to achieve 100% regulatory compliance and high performance.

What you'll need to succeed
In order to be considered for this role, you must hold a level 4 diploma in fire safety or equivalent, ideally a NEBOSH certificate in fire safety supported by a practical application or further practical qualification such as IFE L3 in fire safety.

We are looking for a new Head of Patient Safety to provide senior leadership and operational delivery of the NHS Patient Safety Strategy and Incident Response Framework across the organisation. As an early adopter, we have pioneered national changes in patient safety, and we want our Head of Patient Safety to continue our journey in delivering the NHS England strategy of insight, involvement, and improvement. The Head of Patient Safety will be accountable for providing compassionate and collaborative senior leadership, visibility and expert advice for patient safety including incident response within the organisation. As the Head of Patient Safety, you will work closing with your team, integrated governance departments and our clinical leaders to understand and explore the most effective approaches to improving patient safety. The post-holder will co-ordinate the Medical Capital Equipment bid/request process (in conjunction with finance and procurement colleagues) and act as the primary point of contact for Care Groups, ensuring contemporaneous tracking of status of actions and chasing of required actions for progress. They will ensure the timely delivery of the medical capital equipment programme within the financial envelope available. They will assist with the preparation of reports, presentations and correspondence to quality standards and within deadlines. The post holder will be expected to work under their own initiative and be able to analyse information and highlight potential problems.
