Position Summary / Project Description

Sitting on the corner of Kent and Brunswick Streets and a stone's throw from the banks of the Brisbane River, Brunswick Hotel is a favourite among locals and visitors to New Farm.  The Brunswick Hotel has a fun, young diverse team and work seems like play at times.  Our closing times vary between 1am on a Sunday through to 4am on Weekend party nights.

This is a brilliant opportunity to become an Assistant Manager at the Brunswick Hotel.

What you’ll do:

• Be a motivational and inspiring leader, develop and train the team to ensure an exceptional guest experience every time
• Manage the day to day operations of the Venue - open/close, back of house administration, recruiting team members, rostering and assisting guests
• Bring your passion for good food and creating moments that matter for our guests
• Be creative - develop and grow the business through your own initiatives

• Engage in leader responsibility for work operations of maintenance on heavy mobile equipment, vehicles and power support generators.
• Pass supervisor instructions to employees, distribute work among the work crews and check work in progress and when finished for compliance.
• Ensure needed plans, materials and tools are available, start the work while demonstrating proper work methods.
• Diagnose, troubleshoot, maintain and repair diesel and gasoline engines, transmissions, rear-ends, transaxles and fixed and mobile electrical generators.
• Maintain subsystems by cleaning, repairing, replacing or adjusting components as required. Utilize acetylene and electric welders to repair, modify or rebuild various mechanical components.
• Operate a variety of machine tools to fabricate, resurface and bore equipment parts and components.
• Operate hydraulic operated boom crane and forklift to mount and dismount generators.

• Managing a variety of diverse asylum operational programs implemented by separate subordinate organizational units at the Asylum Office.
• Supervising a unit by planning, coordinating, directing, and evaluating the activities of subordinate employees.
• Identifying and resolving unique asylum operational issues where no policy exists and taking innovative actions to address new needs.
• Overseeing the development of technical data, estimates, statistics, suggestions, and other information useful to higher level managers in determining which goals and objectives to emphasize in managing asylum operations.
• Practicing sound position management when assigning work, combining/separating duties, and in fulfilling other human resources management duties and responsibilities.
