Principal Accountabilities

Specific responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to, the following:

• Primary technical accounting expert in key areas
• Support global accounting function with technical accounting and Flowserve accounting policy inquiries
• Maintain Flowserve accounting policies, including updating on an as-needed basis and approving accounting policy waivers  
• Prepare quarterly and annual impairment analysis for goodwill and indefinite-lived assets
• Remain current and proactive on new and updated accounting standards affecting the company, including evaluation / analysis of impacts
• Track and communicate status of upcoming FASB projects and exposure drafts
• Partner with the business to manage efforts for implementation of new and updated accounting standards and policies across the company
• Coordinate and manage the technical accounting and purchase accounting for acquisition and divestiture projects
• Provide support for complex and non-routine accounting transactions, including prospectively supporting proposed business transactions, drafting technical accounting memoranda and providing relevant advice/consultation to key decision makers
• Support accounting and finance-oriented process improvement initiatives across the company
• Interact with internal and external auditors on relevant matters
• Develop and administer global training programs targeted to accounting and finance personnel utilizing multiple delivery methods
• Assist in the preparation and review of financial statements, footnotes and MD&A for annual reports on Form 10-K and quarterly reports on Form 10-Q, for a large, complex and multinational manufacturing company
• Support other projects and corporate-level initiatives that have a significant impact on the global accounting and finance organization

Required Skills/Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting
• 5+ years’ experience in some combination of technical accounting, SEC reporting, Internal audit, industry or big four public accounting
• Strong technical accounting background with a thorough knowledge of US GAAP, SOX 404 and SEC reporting standards and ability to perform technical research in these areas as needed
• Strong technical accounting skills including, but not limited to, knowledge of accounting for goodwill and other intangible assets, cash flow statements, derivatives, revenue recognition, leases, fixed assets and currency translation
• Excellent problem solving and critical thinking skills; ability to apply judgement and operate effectively in a decentralized, and dynamic environment
• Attention to detail and accuracy with the ability to package and present complex information in an effective and efficient manner
• Able to multi-task and meet deadlines in time-constrained situations
• Demonstrated ability to communicate verbally and in writing throughout all levels of organization, both internally and externally
• Strong PC skills including Windows and Microsoft Office products

• Masters Degree in Accounting
• CPA Certification
• Knowledge of Workiva and SAP BPC
• Experience with industrial products/manufacturing/distribution companies

• Demonstrate an understanding of increasingly complex personal and business financial planning concepts and stay informed of current financial planning developments and tax law changes.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's Degree

• 5+ years of experience within a financial services and/or a financial planning environment

• CFP® designation

• 3+ years of experience in personal financial planning including tax and estate planning strategies

• 1+ years of experience with eMoney, MoneyGuide or RightCapital is required

Preferences:

Your Responsibilities

Account Management

• Manage and nurture relationships with existing customers, identifying opportunities for growth within these accounts.  

• Maintain and develop relationships with existing customers. Understand customer needs and ensure satisfaction with Choice products or services.

Business Development

• Follow up with leads and nurture them through the sales cycle

Account Administration

Summary of the job duties include:

Accounting:

In this capacity, the individual will work with employees of all levels across the global KBR organization, including interfacing with high-ranking officials and stakeholders.  This individual will perform duties as a Senior Subject Matter Expert (SME) for S&S Procurement and will demonstrate complete knowledge of FAR and DFARS requirements as they relate to KBR Subcontracts/Purchase Orders and will maintain consistent knowledge of regulation updates. The Procurement Compliance Manager will be based to Houston, TX and will report to the Sr. Manager of Procurement Compliance.

Additional Responsibilities Include: 

The Procurement Compliance Manager duties and responsibilities may include but are not limited to the following:

• Assure S&S maintains a Government Approved Purchasing System
• Assure Procurement File Compliance to KBR’s Procurement Manual and Government requirements.
• Champion integrity of the Procurement Manual and work with other Business Units to ensure it is maintained and Current.
• Establish and monitor an effective training curriculum for all Government procurement professionals.
• Provide training to Procurement and Operations personnel on all aspects of the procurement process as well as specific targeted areas as required and monitor training effectiveness and attendance.
• Assist with the development of Procurement training modules to ensure Compliance issues are being properly addressed.
• Act as lead trainer for advanced procurement topics.
• Establish and monitor a comprehensive Internal Auditing System, including implementation of effective peer auditing (IPASS), independent assessments, quality feedback/KPI review process, and progressive risk-based reviews of large procurements.
• Develop comprehensive audit reports that detail audit findings, recommend corrective actions as required, perform risk assessments, and conduct internal control assessments.
• Report findings and observations to the Sr. Manager of Procurement & Compliance, the VP, Procurement & Supply Chain Management, the Director, Procurement & Supply Chain Management and other senior managers.
• Coordinate with all external Government agencies and internal requests to provide responses for audits and ensure compliance in the most responsive manner possible.
• Implement a Compliance metrics program to track findings discovered during compliance reviews.
• Develop recurring reports and analyses on a weekly/monthly basis from commitment data
• Responsible for oversight of S&S Small Business Reporting and Small Business Liaison Officer (SBLO)
• Ensures SBLO guides proposal teams towards consistently including diverse suppliers in the competitive bidding process.
• Promotes supplier diversity strategy to drive growth in small business and other related socio-economic category spending for KBR.
• Promotes the formation of strong diverse supplier partnerships, teaming arrangements, and joint ventures as appropriate and maintain partnerships.
• Overseas the development of goals, metrics, and reporting to monitor performance against KBR's Subcontracting Plans and government regulations in accordance with FAR Part 19
• Ensures accurate and compliant ISR’s and SSRs are submitted in accordance with the Small Business filing requirements.

REQUIRED EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Management or Similar from an accredited college or university
• 10+ years related experience with a focus on procurement compliance and small business requirements. 5 years of the 10 years in a supervisory or management role
• U.S. Citizenship required.
• Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
• Experience using Power BI, a plus.

PREFERRED EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

• Master’s degree from an accredited college or university (preferred)
• Experience with Costpoint (preferred)

Title:

KBR is looking for an Accounting Manager (AM) to join our team for an exciting opportunity supporting the USAID NexGen Global Health Supply Chain Program. This is a full-time position that will accommodate a hybrid remote/office work schedule, but will require occasional travel to the Washington, D.C. area and potential overseas travel. The AM will work under the direct supervision of the Business Manager and serves as the main point of contact for end-to-end accounting management operations.  Must be a highly organized self-starter capable of working in a fast-paced, multi-discipline team environment with the ability to manage competing priorities to achieve goals.

Responsible for accounting policies and procedures involving the maintenance of a precise general ledger, analysis of balance sheet accounts, and management financial reporting. Under general direction, is accountable for the performance and results of a related discipline or sub-group within a function. Manages the delivery of functional objectives by providing leadership and direction to team members. Participates in the development of functional strategy and may be responsible for global processes and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Review monthly and quarterly balance sheet account reconciliations performed by the team; ensuring timely, adequate, and complete reconciliations with adequate explanations for any variances that may exist.
• Oversee organizational and professional development of accounting staff, as needed
• Oversee the monthly close process; preparing / approving month-end journal entries and participate in resolving potential issues and communicating any possible close related delays
• Work to assess the adequacy of existing or required new Internal controls
• Provide monthly/quarterly reports and analysis to internal & external auditors and respond regarding periodic information requests.
• Work cross-functionally with multiple functions to evaluate potential change orders and their accounting impact
• Support monthly reporting of budgets/forecasts to corporate FP&A and Treasury
• Continuously analyze current automation of the accounting and reporting process and present improvement suggestions
• Ensure project funding requirements are met to ensure positive project cash flow
• Maintain adequate documentation in support of Sarbanes-Oxley compliance and assessments
• Uphold company standards when working with business partners to ensure compliance with corporate accounting policies, procedures, and controls
• Perform various ad-hoc analyses and other duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree (Accounting, Finance)
• 10+ years of experience in Accounting / Finance, including 2+ years of supervisory/managerial experience
• Preferred experience with Joint Venture projects
• Experience with standard government agency (particularly USAID) reporting requirements
• Proficiency in project finance assessments, cost analysis, forecasting, budget development
• Advanced skills with Microsoft Office, specifically Excel.
• Preferred proficiency in Deltek/Costpoint and IFS
• Proactive innovator with ability to prioritize effectively
• Strong communication skills, critical thinking, and problem solving
• Possess confidence, flexibility and is a team player
