Overview:
We are seeking an organized and dynamic Studio Manager to oversee the daily operations of our ceramic art studio. This role requires a passionate individual with experience in ceramics, excellent management skills, and the ability to foster a creative environment for artists, students, and community members. The Studio Manager will be responsible for managing training facilities, kiln operations, throwing facilities, workshops, classes, and school projects.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Studio Operations Management:
- Oversee daily studio operations, ensuring a safe, clean, and organized environment for all users.
- Manage scheduling for studio space, kiln usage, and equipment to optimize resource allocation.
- Maintain inventory of supplies and materials, ordering as needed to support classes and workshops.
2. Program Development & Management:
- Develop, implement, and promote ceramic classes and workshops for various skill levels and age groups.
- Collaborate with local schools and community organizations to design and execute educational projects and programs.
- Evaluate and improve existing programs based on feedback and participation rates.
3. Training & Instruction:
- Provide hands-on instruction and guidance to students in throwing, glazing, and firing techniques.
- Train and supervise studio assistants and volunteers, ensuring they understand safety protocols and operational procedures.
- Organize and lead demonstrations, guest artist workshops, and special events to enhance learning opportunities.
4. Kiln and Equipment Management:
- Oversee the operation and maintenance of kilns and other studio equipment, ensuring compliance with safety standards.
- Develop kiln firing schedules and monitor the quality of fired pieces, troubleshooting any issues that arise.
- Conduct regular inspections and maintenance of studio equipment to ensure optimal performance.
5. Community Engagement & Marketing:
- Build relationships with local artists, schools, and community members to enhance the studio's visibility and outreach.
- Promote studio events, classes, and workshops through social media, newsletters, and local advertising.
- Organize exhibitions or showcases to display student and community work, fostering a sense of accomplishment and community.
6. Administrative Duties:
- Manage budgets for studio operations, programs, and supplies, ensuring financial sustainability.
- Maintain accurate records of class registrations, payments, and participant attendance.
- Handle customer inquiries, feedback, and concerns in a professional and timely manner.
