We are looking for an experienced manager to help us deliver the study support service in the Regional Research Delivery Network (RRDN) in the East of England. This is a key leadership position delivering critical services across a defined portfolio of specialities and settings. These encompass pre-approval services such as Planning and Placement Service/national cost and attribution tools, as well as post-approval services including portfolio oversight and on-request services.

As a newly formed organisation you would be joining a highly effective team which is building on its successes as the Clinical Research Network. The RDN mission is to enable the health and care system to attract, optimise and deliver research across England. We do this as part of the NIHR’s overall mission to improve the health and wealth of the nation through research.

The post holder’s work base will be either Norwich or in and around the Cambridge Area subject to agreement on appointment.

The role will report into the Study Support Service Senior Manager. Central to the role is the cultivation of a robust knowledge base within the assigned portfolio area, achieved through the establishment of communities of practice with relevant study and delivery teams. The role will also work in collaboration with Regional Specialty and Setting leads.

The key responsibilities of this role will be the delivery of Study Support Services across a defined portfolio of specialities and settings in accordance with nationally defined standards and processes. This will include:
• Pre-Approval Services: planning and placement of research studies, national cost attribution services.
• Post-Approval Services: portfolio delivery oversight
• Leading and participating in national and regional programmes and projects to support research delivery.

You will act as a liaison between a broad range of stakeholders to ensure effective collaboration, communication and alignment of objectives. Working with research delivery sites, you will support their delivery needs, review and evaluate plans to assure appropriate use of RDN funding.

As a main point of contact for Study Sponsors and Research Delivery Organisations, you will provide a consistent and coordinated experience in Study Support Service delivery and proactively support in identifying opportunities for capacity and capability development.

Your responsibilities as a Site Manager (Multi-Utility):

Manage the Multi-Utility (Gas/Water) teams to ensure the effective and efficient delivery of scheduled works and site supervision of operatives and sub-contractors to ensure compliance with safety.
Conduct monthly audits on operational teams to ensure high standards of work and equipment maintenance – conducting remedial action where required and closing out any corrective action in a timely manner.
They will ensure that the upcoming programme of work is adequately resourced, sites are pre-vetted, and materials are ordered and managed in line with requirements.
Check content of work instructions to ensure works are viable and ensure correct materials will be available.
Be the initial point of contact to craft teams for technical, material, and administrative matters.
Support the scheduling team by reviewing the programme in advance and providing feedback to ensure teams are deployed in the most effective way


Experience / Knowledge:

Previous experience of water/gas distribution networks.
Experienced in managing multiple projects/teams across different locations.
Experienced in dealing with internal and external site-based workforce.
Ability to apply Company design/planning procedures and requirements.
Organised, methodical approach to work with excellent time management skills
Be pragmatic and able to find solutions

Salary: up to £83k My client are a well known facilities maintenance and building contractor, they are looking for an experienced facilities contracts manager who is from a hard services background to take on a contract on a large Hospital site on the outskirts of Cambridge.
They are looking for a dynamic and highly organised Contract Manager to oversee all aspects of facilities management including all Mechanical, electrical and fabric services on site. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring the successful delivery of services, maintaining client relationships, and optimising contract performance. Key Responsibilities will include:

• Manage and administer facilities management contracts, ensuring compliance with all terms and conditions.

• Proficiency in contract management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Self-motivated and able to work both independently and as part of a team.
