Thames Water is looking for a Senior Data Analyst to join the Analytics and Reporting team. As the UK’s largest water company, we are taking action for a new world of water - fixing the problems of today and building resilience for tomorrow.
The scope of the role encompasses all Customer Service, Financial Customer Care and Wholesale units and also encompasses wider Thames water requirements for service organisation reporting.
What you will be doing as the Senior Data Analyst: You will provide client managers with specialist information and advice related to a specific area of the business, either through regular operations or in a project environment. Collecting (ETL), organising, visualising, analysing and disseminating data and reporting back insights compellingly and succinctly to the business. You will also play a strong role in data migration from legacy on-premise servers to Azure Cloud.
Duties to include but not limited to:
- Provide relevant and effective operational data analysis and interpretation.
- Provide expert advice to help influence and inform colleagues/managers on operational decisions.
- Daily reporting and analysis, interpreting data into insight.
- Driving key business priorities and decisions through data, supporting operational teams to make informed decisions.
- Conduct modelling and interpretation of the company's operational data, working closely with colleagues in other functions at all levels, and providing insight and challenge into the operational and process owner teams or project managers.
- Monitoring, controlling and reporting on risk and opportunity profiles.
- Produces consolidated reports across the Business.
- Prepare insight from analysis of complex data to identify skills gaps or broken processes & procedures making recommendations for possible improvements.
- Supporting other managers and departments with effective data capture for both regular and ad-hoc reporting.
The position is Hybrid – Based out of Walnut Court Swindon SN2 8BN.
Hours are 36 hours per week.
What you should bring to the role:
- We are looking for someone with an established track record of Data, Analytical and Insight experience to a very high standard.
- Strong Azure and Azure Data Factory skill set.
- Power BI & SQL experience including PL-SQL.
- Strong programming background including experience in Python.
- Ability to deal with key stakeholders within the business.
- Previous commercial experience, or equivalent.
- Strong numerical and analytical skills, including statistical modelling.
- Numerical, application experience, Insight and high-level messaging capability.
- High level of relationship management ability.
