Job Title: Senior Safety Case Engineer
Contract: 12 Months

* To prepare appropriate Hazard Identification and Safety Assessment documentation.

As a Senior Systems Engineer, you'll have a role that's out of the ordinary. you will conduct engineering analysis and modelling for through life submarine availability that keep our submarines safe at sea.

Day-to-day, you'll be providing effective Support modelling and analysis using your analytical skills to enable a foundation for an informed, evidence-based maintenance support programme to meet MOD project requirements for increased submarines availability, capability, and sustainment engineering.

You will exploit both data and digital technology to deliver data-led insights into submarines availability. The output of your modelling activities will provide the backbone of quantitative evidence required to inform and support the Maintenance Upkeep and Operating Cycle (MUOC) and through life maintenance planning activities.

This role is full time, 35 hours and will be based at on site at Devonport Royal Dockyard with hybrid working from home arrangements.

Essential experience of the Senior Systems Engineer

• Competency with logic or programming, ideally experience with Python or similar.
• High level of computer literacy, comfortable with Excel.
• Able to identify technical risks and issues and raise mitigating actions, including developing proposals for investigations and/or solutions / process improvements.

Qualifications for the Senior Systems Engineer

• Working towards professional registration of an accredited STEM body such as IMechE, INCOSE, IMarEST or IET
• You'll be qualified to minimum of a degree in a STEM discipline (e.g. Mechanical, Electrical, System, Data or Maths). Experience in lieu of formal education would be considered.

The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role.

You will be responsible for co-ordinating and managing the performance of clinical trials mainly with regard to the orthopaedic portfolio and the management of a team of clinical research staff within. As a Senior Research Nurse you will be responsible for the implementation and monitoring of the clinical requirements associated with research to ensure optimum delivery of Clinical trials. You will ensure that research will be conducted in accordance with the Research Governance Framework and Good Clinical Practice guidelines to provide assurance that the rights, safety and well-being of trial participants are protected. You will ensure that all research procedures are conducted according to study protocols and will be accountable for the recruitment, data collection and care of research participants with a focus on providing a quality experience. The post will require an understanding of setting up and running commercial and non- commercial portfolio adopted studies as well as building relationships with our local Principal and Chief investigators. The Senior Research Nurse must be able to autonomously plan, implement and manage concurrent research projects as well as providing expert knowledge, skill and experience to support those involved in clinical trials. Although this role is for a Research Nurse within the Orthopaedic Team, there may be a requirement to work within a wide range of specialties; therefore, this role requires a high degree of flexibility, confidence and self-motivation.
