About the role

About the Role As the Senior Trading Standards Officer, you will review complaints from a variety of sources including consumers and partner agencies. You will seek to tackle illegal trading practices by conducting thorough and timely investigations covering the breadth of Trading Standards legislation and through implementing disruptions to stop criminality. You will work with our prevention team to protect the most vulnerable residents and will assist and encourage Businesses to comply with relevant legislation Day to day duties of the Senior Trading Standards Officer includes:

• Investigating complex complaints and enquiries spanning the full breadth of Trading Standards Legislation, including food, weights and measures
• Complying with all legislation and policies that relate to Trading Standards
• Carrying out detailed research and analysis for projects
• Contributing to the prevention agenda by providing residents and businesses with advice and information through a variety of channels
• Working effectively with internal and external partners

• A Trading Standards professional qualification including food, weights and measures
• Detailed knowledge and experience of Trading Standards criminal investigations
• Detailed knowledge of the legislative framework that Trading Standards must adhere to

• Knowledge and experience of working effectively with partners
• Excellent communication skills
• The willingness and ability to travel to meet the demands of the role.

Your new company
You will be working for an award-winning and widely recognised Tier One contractor who delivers high quality work on road schemes, partnering with National Highways and local authorities. With this project in particular, you will be providing commercial support on an £80 million project which involves work on a dual-carriage road and roundabouts.

Your new role
You will be working on an infrastructure project where you will be heavily involved in subcontractor procurement and management of subcontractor packages. Furthermore, your role will include, but not be limited to producing and agreeing monthly applications in line with the terms of agreement, producing thorough monthly reports and CVR's in accordance with the project or business unit specifications and analysing and assessing extensively the expenditure reports generated by internal cost systems.

What you'll need to succeed
In order to succeed, you will have strong experience in the procurement of subcontractors and subcontractor management on large scale highway projects, NEC3/4 contract experience and previous employment with Tier One contractors. Degree qualifications are desired, but not essential.
