About Us:
Salt House is a modern, special facility licensed venue designed specifically for the tropical climate we enjoy. Our venue contains a 180 pax restaurant featuring a wood fired Argentinian grill, a private dining room for up to 20 guests, 20 pax standalone pizzeria, 2 large cocktail bars with daybeds and plenty of open seating areas leading to a large grassed area. This allows us to accommodate many different kinds of events and functions from large weddings to our annual Food & Wine Festival.
We cater to a broad and varied demographic taking great pride in holding a solid reputation for friendly professional service. We are a passionate supporter of live music and entertainment with a weekly programme of musicians and DJs.
About the Role:
We are looking for an experienced self-motivated Chef to join our team. You must have creative flair with a solid track record in delivering high-quality cuisine, with a focus on local produce and sustainable farming. Your tasks and responsibilities will be but not limited to:
• Preparation and cooking of meals ensuring promptness, freshness and highest quality of dishes
• Ensuring compliance with all food and service standards
• Ensuring kitchen is kept to a high standard by providing a clean, hygienic environment for the preparation and delivery of meals
• Promoting a safe, secure environment for staff and patrons
• Stock control including ordering of correct quantities, storing under the correct conditions, monthly stock takes, quality and price
• Rectifying any arising problems or complaints
• Staff recruitment, training, supervision and rostering
• This is a long-term role so only permanent residents or applicants with the ability to work long term need apply.
About You:
To be successful in this role, you must have a high level of customer service, time management and coordination skills. You will be hands-on in your approach, meticulous and well organised and thrive on achieving outstanding results within the team. You will have passion for delivering quality food. You will also have:
• Minimum 3 years’ experience in a similar role
• Diploma Level Qualification
• Effective communication skills
• A strong knowledge of food safety legislation & regulations
• Attention to detail
• Positive attitude and professional manner
• Full Australian Work rights
• Flexibility with rosters and be available to work days, nights and Public Holidays
