The primary purpose of the HUMAN RESOURCES ASSISTANT (MILITARY), GS-0203-7, is to is to assist a higher graded specialist in researching/studying/analyzing and administering all aspects of the assigned function(s). Performs duties in one or more program areas as described below. Incumbent identifies the scope or nature of a situation and determines the need for and obtains additional information through research of pertinent records, identifying trends and patterns, and/or review of technical reference material in order to resolve problems or controversies pertaining to human resources matters.

• Provides assistance in administering and managing the enlisted retention program. Provides procedural guidance to commanders, supervisors, and staff members on the Weight Management Program (WMP). Provides advice and assistance to commander and staff on various Career Enhancement programs.
• Participates in development of procedures and establishment of policy for building, updating, auditing, and for accountability and disposition of automated and manual records. Ensures records are accurately maintained and updated. Compiles reports and statistical information regarding various programs.
• Prepares reports on strength accountability and provides statistics to senior staff on projected and actual losses. Provides manpower data to commanders and assists them with problem areas. Maintains suspense and updates duty status and deployment availability codes.
• Participates in analysis and subsequent determinations regarding personnel matters that may affect Active Guard Reserve (AGRs), traditional reservists, and/or family members. Participates in staff visits and trains personnel within the unit on Personnel Readiness programs for which they are responsible. Participates in preparation of and presents periodic briefings/orientations on mobilization procedures to commanders required to support deployments.

The position resides within the infrastructure and support functions of the state National Guard; the incumbent is not subject to mobilization, nor is the work described part of the military mission; and the incumbent does not perform a key advisory or essential administrative role that is inherently military. In addition, the position must meet one of the following: It does not have a comparable military function; the position is required in full-time (civilian) role when the organization, or similar military position, is mobilized to perform continuing post-mobilization functions; or the position requires a skill or competency that necessitates technical expertise or professional qualifications that cannot be readily found in the military structure of the state military force.

Duties
may include but are not limited to:

• The Mobile Provider iPad Program and the Digital Divide Program are sponsored by the VHA Office of Connected Care (OCC). The Mobile Provider iPad Program provides iPads to Clinicians to use in the day-to-day patient care activities. The Digital Divide Program provides electronic devices to veterans in need, assisting them in communicating with their care providers;
• The incumbent is a point of contact for providers desiring to enroll in the Mobile Provider Program. The incumbent is knowledgeable of OCC's rules governing eligibility for enrollment. Assists providers to navigate the iPad request process. The incumbent assists providers with initial device setup as well as problem solving/troubleshooting device issues;
• Incumbent maintains inventory of iPads issued to STX providers, tracks, and reports to Connected Health Coordinator when iPad Data Plans are due for renewal. Works with providers who no longer desire or need an iPad follows proper protocol to return the devices to OCC;
• The incumbent works with stakeholders to provide device training to those patients enrolled in the OCC Digital Divide Program. Ensures patient has necessary software applications and is familiar with usage;
• The incumbent is responsible for training service and facility staff in various information technology packages to include but not limited to Secure Messaging. provides oversight for a variety of software programs integral to the overall administration and operations of the Health Informatics;
• The incumbent provides user support through training and troubleshooting problems; equipment support including maintaining the inventory, assisting with requests for repair and maintenance, and assisting with new equipment requests. The work involves preparing reports and presentation materials, managing, and responding to routine and recurring IT support needs, training, and office support needs within the Health Informatics Service line;

Supports all Warrior Athlete Readiness and Resilience (WARR) programming and services and Marine Corps Total Fitness (MCTF) strategy.  Performs and/or assists in the operation of the assigned recreation activity.  Based on established policies, incumbent carries out assigned phases of designated activity applying an understanding of the interest and needs of program participants.  Typical assignments may include applying rules and regulations in supervising assigned participants in indoor and outdoor activities, setting up gymnasiums and playing fields for sports events, conducting tours and field trips, preparing equipment, rosters, maintain government vehicles, creating information packets, and making phone calls and text messages. Demonstrates procedures common to the activities and instructs in the use of related equipment. Conducts instructional classes in the recreational area. Incumbent will frequently assist in the instruction of mountain bike trail rides, hikes, and surf lessons. Helps to plan and coordinate details of recreational activities and maintains related supplies.  Assists in planning, scheduling and publicizing various activities to attract and motivate participants. Events may involve frequent travel, working with large groups of people, and working frequent nights, weekends and holidays.

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES: 
Must support other programs within Semper Fit when called upon. Will maintain confidentially when collecting Personally Identifiable Information (PII), HIPPA, and other information.
Must have general knowledge of Microsoft Office: excel, word, power point, publisher, Outlook (email), Windows, and navigating the web.  Must have excellent oral and written communications skills. This position serves as the Security Assistant for Police Service within the Veterans Health Administration (VHA) with a primary purpose to monitor physical security equipment and systems. Major duties and responsibilities include:

• Physical Security Support: monitors and responds to alarms; traces access patterns, programming, assigns or removes user permissions, and remotely opens and secures doors during routine and emergency operations; determines when to dispatch law enforcement or other personnel to investigate; maintains radio/alarm activity records/logs to include dates, times, and results of communications and activities; prepares completed reports; issues and retrieves government issued keys and/or identification cards; and maintains accountability of Police Officer badges issued and all associated logs.

Supports the store replenishment effort through coordinating general inventory and merchandise flow, partnering with Sales Managers to ensure replenishment is executed in a systematic, on-brand way. Ensures backroom standards are maintained.
