Your role will involve offering top-notch secretarial and administrative assistance to our esteemed consultants, doctors, nurses, and medical personnel. This includes proficiently typing clinical letters and documents, alongside tackling general administrative tasks within our vibrant office environment.
Your responsibilities will extend to prioritising and typing clinical correspondence with precision and efficiency, adhering strictly to agreed-upon standards and timeframes at both local and national levels. Additionally, you'll play a pivotal role in swiftly organising and filing case notes, correspondence, and investigation outcomes.
We pride ourselves on maintaining the highest standards of professionalism, ensuring that all correspondence undergoes meticulous review and is appropriately signed—whether manually or digitally—by the respective consultant.
You will demonstrate excellent organisational skills, be flexible in approach, and be able to demonstrate a consistently high standard of professionalism, being aware of the need for confidentiality and integrity. Fundamental to this post is the ability to multi-task and effectively manage your workload working to tight deadlines.
You must be hard working, possess good oral and written communication skills, have good computer skills and be flexible to the needs of the department and in turn you will receive a competitive and flexible benefits package.
Ideally, you will have previous typing experience, with RSA or OCR qualification, or the relevant experience. However, all training will be provided on our database systems.

• E-mail clinical correspondence to GP/originating referrer and send copy letters to patients.
• To prioritise own workload appropriately, referring any service concerns to the medical secretaries (or clinical support manager) in a timely manner.
• Maintain good relationships with members of staff, ensuring a high degree of confidentiality and integrity at all times.
• Answer internal and external telephone queries from staff, patients and others.
• Communicates with a range of staff, users and visitors to the Trust/Department utilising a variety of communication methods including verbal, electronic and passing information in a format that is appropriate to the individual request.
• Organise incoming and outgoing, referring enquiries to appropriate person if necessary.
• All data is entered onto database / spreadsheets in a timely manner and is accurate.
• Files are located in a timely manner and tracked to appropriate places.
