As an enthusiastic and skilled Psychology graduate, you’ll contribute to two innovative programmes: CAMHS workforce development, focusing on expansion, retention, new roles, and training, and the GM i-THRIVE framework, an exciting system transformation initiative for children and young people’s (CYP) mental health. You'll be supported to use your creativity, knowledge, and research skills to improve CYP outcomes across Greater Manchester.
This hybrid role offers a dynamic opportunity to work on both programmes and engage in clinical work. Three days are dedicated to supporting the programmes, and two days focus on clinical duties.
Key responsibilities include supporting senior colleagues within the GM CAMHS Workforce and THRIVE Transformation Programme teams. You'll liaise with community agencies, manage data entry, assist with psychological assessments, and contribute to project tasks under supervision. Participation in team activities and broader programme support is essential.
A critical part of the role involves assisting with workforce training, including digital content creation (e.g., on WordPress). You’ll also contribute to marketing CAMHS initiatives, evaluating programmes, developing systems, analyzing data, and presenting insights to the Workforce Transformation Programme team and stakeholders.
You'll work under the supervision of a Senior Clinical colleague and receive appropriate training for clinical and other duties.
A good knowledge of current national policy around Child and Adolescent Mental Health
A good knowledge of psychological principles in relation to childhood development and mental health
Experience in working with children, adolescents and/or adults with mental health problems.
Experience in using computer software packages – SPSS, Microsoft Word, Access, Excel and WordPress
Experience of descriptive statistical analysis
Ability to handle search through complex data sources including case notes
Able to work to tight deadlines
Ability to work with people from different backgrounds and of different ages
Good communication and social skills (oral and written)
Ability to establish effective relationships with children and adults
Ability to work with people from different background and of different ages
Exceptional written communication skills.
Good organisational and time management skills including the ability to prioritise work according to fixed time-scales
Ability to work collaboratively with staff across CAMHS
