Role Summary:
The Entry Level Manual Machinist will maintain and operate a variety of machines and equipment. The individual will perform tasks within our Deburr/Balance department including precision grinding, the use of overhead jib cranes, and balancing of components and rotors. This position is also responsible for visual inspections of different part families along with utilizing hand tools to deburr, cut, and polish parts.
This is a 1st shift position. Work hours: Monday to Friday from 6:00am to 2:30pm. Location: Houston, TX.
Responsibilities
- Operate and maintain manual machines and equipment.
- Will use hand tools such as air tools, die grinders, and belt sanders.
- Move materials and parts to and from work areas via power lift trucks and forklifts.
- Ensure a smooth flow of production.
- Involved in solving production and technological problems.
- Comply with established guidelines and procedures.
- Adhere to all Safety Procedures & Policy.
- Self-motivated.
- Able to stand for long periods, repetitive arm motions, frequent lifting with ability to lift up to 25 lbs
- Responsible for accurate completion of certification reports.
Requirements
- Works well in a team oriented and CIP environment.
- Ability to work overtime as required.
- HS Diploma / GED and 0-2 years relevant experience
- Experience in machining or similar field (drilling, milling, cutting metal).
- Experience using and interpreting precision measuring instruments.
- Ability to read and follow route sheets/Blueprints.
- Ability to follow complex verbal and written instructions.
- Basic shop math skills.
- Mechanically inclined and a fast learner.
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Forklift certification.
- High level of organization skills.
- Basic computer skills.
- Experience working in an industrial, manufacturing, construction, or related environment.
