An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Registered Nurse Adult (RNA) or an Allied Health Professional (AHP) with a background in trauma within the acute hospital setting to join the Major Trauma Service (MTS) at UHCW.

As a Major Trauma Acute Coordinator you will be responsible for holistic patient care and coordination, supporting patients and their relatives throughout the hospital admission. The Major Trauma Service oversees the patient pathway from both the emergency department and transfers in from other hospitals through to hospital discharge and the early phase of rehabilitation.

This post is ideal for an enthusiastic clinician who wishes to broaden their trauma knowledge and work in a experienced diverse multidisciplinary team. This post forms part of a 7-day working roster so the successful candidate will be required to work weekend shifts on a regular basis.

The role will encompass the full set of responsibilities as set out in the accompanying job description but in summary the key responsibilities are:
• To work with the Major Trauma Service Lead and Clinical Lead to provide a safe and effective patient centred service for all patients suffering Major Trauma.
• Close liaison with the lead admitting consultants and their teams to facilitate an optimal care pathway for the patients.
• To attend and facilitate multidisciplinary meetings.
• To support the Resus Trauma Team in the emergency department including supporting with the delivery of the massive haemorrhage protocol (MHP).

1. Maintain oversight of all NMTR eligible trauma patients within the Trust using various methods to capture patients who are admitted following trauma either via ED or directly to the wards from referring hospitals using the relevant databases and systems.

5. Have a broad understanding of trauma care and be able to escalate appropriately cases where treatment or plans may be incorrect or treatment is not performed in a timely manner. Maintain high levels of communication with clinical areas such as critical care, wards and rehabilitation teams to support in the admission and planning of care
6. Attend trauma calls working within own scope of practice. Examples of roles during a Trauma Call: Scribe, acting as a prompt and resource for the Trauma Team Leader or other members of the team, communication with specialities or Theatres. Administration of blood & blood components during an MHP
7. Work in conjunction with the Major Trauma rehabilitation coordinators to ensure that all patients’ rehabilitation needs are assessed and met at the appropriate stage of their recovery and a rehabilitation prescription completed as required. Ensure a smooth handover of patient care to the trauma rehabilitation team at the appropriate point in their pathway
8. Support the Major Trauma Rehabilitation team with patients who deteriorate or require ongoing planning by specialities to facilitate best care
9. Work collaboratively with the wider multidisciplinary team and specialities involved in trauma care, including charities and signposting/ support services.

This post is for a Rotational Occupational Therapist at UHCW NHS Trust, the rotations are for 6 months and provide opportunities for staff to consolidate theory into practice and to develop core skills in a variety of clinical settings. These include inpatients, outpatients, emergency departments and the discharge team.

UHCW’S Level III Neonatal Unitprovides a wide range of services to sick newborn babies and forms part of the West Midlands Perinatal Network . The unit strives to provides family centered care to a range of babies from those born extremely prematurely around 22 weeks gestation to term babies who are sick at birth. We offer therapies such as Nitric Oxide, Cooling and ROP laser surgery using state of the art, new equipment.

UHCW neonatal unit looks after up to 8 Intensive care cots, 8 High dependency cots, 14 Special care cots and 6 Transitional care cots. We have a LMNS Outreach service and a wellbeing counselling service for families and staff. The unit has been accredited as the first level 3 Neonatal unit in the area as Baby Friendly by Unicef for the excellent practice in the support of infant feeding and parent-infant relationships. We have also been awarded our Bronze Bliss award. In our last CQC inspection (2018) UHCW was rated as good.

Over the years the unit has built an excellent reputation for high quality healthcare and outstanding career development. Management

Radiation protection
1. Provide expert scientific and technical advice in the areas of RPA and MPE support, and proactively to contribute to formulating departmental policy and management of the routine service.

The Mental Health Access Hub is looking for an enthusiastic and self-motivated people to join our teams.

We are a 24 hour, 7 days a week service and we are operational 365 days per year including Bank Holidays, Christmas and New Year.

This post requires to cover calls, referrals and administration for the Mental Health Access Hub.

You will be working with the Mental Health Access Hub - which is the Front door services into mental health services in Coventry and Warwickshire. This service will accept and process all of the referrals sent to Secondary Care Mental health services.

Specifically the role supports the call handling, admin processes and worklists for the Mental Health Access Hub.

You will adhere to procedures and processes within service timescales, whilst operating within a busy and demanding environment.

Working within a dynamic team of highly skilled individuals in a Service Desk environment to provide First Line technical support and exceptional levels of Customer Service. Processing all enquiries to the Service Desk in an efficient and professional manner and ensuring that all users receive a seamless high-quality service. The First Line Support Analyst will be expected to participate in a rota to ensure the Service Desk’s core operating hours, including extending operating hours and out of hours are covered, and also train and support users in the use of Trust systems and ICT skills to enable them to be proficient in their job roles. (1) Assist in the support of corporate computer systems covering routine housekeeping/ maintenance tasks, configuration management, incident management, change management and problem management. Enrol users on corporate systems, as directed, fully testing functionality prior to release.



(2) Assist in problem determination and resolution on ICT equipment and services, liaising with Second Line/Third Line technical teams as well as other ICT teams and other internal and external parties as necessary to rectify such faults.



(3) Provide First Line technical and user support for all Trust-wide systems and use remote support tools as appropriate to troubleshoot, resolve faults, and assist users with any queries.



(4) Provide support for the implementation of all new systems ensuring a consistent standard of service delivery, First Line technical support, user support and training assistance.

(1) Ensure all service requests (via telephone, voicemail, email, forms) are dealt with efficiently, logged in a timely manner with the appropriate category, priority and assignment, and annotated with a comprehensive description of the problem in accordance with the documented Service Desk procedures.

(6) Understand the operation of all supported systems such that effective support can be given to users in line with the requirements of the National Service Desk criteria.



(7) Participate in a rota to ensure the full cover of the Service Desk, both in providing hours which will include extended hours, unsocial/out of hours support, as required.



(8) Handle all communications to the Service Desk efficiently, courteously and in a professional manner providing each user with a call reference number and any other relevant information.



(9) Assist in the operation of networked computer systems including system shutdown and startup procedures.



(10) Assist in the installation, configuration, commissioning, testing and troubleshooting of ‘desktop’ end-user Information & Communications Technology (ICT) equipment.
