This is a top-ranking, global, well-known law firm with a highly regarded in-house tax team, who are looking to recruit an international tax accountant to work on all non-UK tax matters in their Manchester office. The law firm is full service, and has over 5000 staff worldwide, along with over 50 offices in multiple jurisdictions, offering fascinating and complex international tax work. The company has a highly flexible working schedule (2 days in the office per week), and have recently opened a new, modern office in the centre of Manchester that offers excellent benefits.
Your new role
In this role, you will be a valuable member of the tax team, offering advice and compliance support on all aspects of group-wide, international tax matters for the firm. These taxes will include corporate, VAT, employment, partnership, withholding, income and international - whilst working with a highly experienced and knowledgeable Senior International Tax Manager, who can offer excellent training and development. Your main day-day responsibilities will include:
- Obtain financial and tax data and returns from international accounting teams, partners, and internal stakeholders.
- Utilise technology and systems / excel highly effectively to manage day to day compliance.
- Understand and review international VAT returns, liaising with overseas finance teams
- Take a lead on international corporation tax returns and filings.
- Research and explain complex, new tax legislation to internal stakeholders effectively.
- Reconcile accounts and calculate profit to be reported to senior stakeholders.
- Assist and prepare with Pillar-2 reporting requirements.
- Assistance with calculation of partner foreign tax payments and availability of foreign tax credits.
What you'll need to succeed
This role is ideal for someone who is eager to gain a strong understanding and further progress in their taxation career with a leading, global business. You will ideally:
- Be part-qualified, or qualified with a reputable professional qualification such as ACA, ACCA, CTA or others.
- Have gained 2+ years experience within a tax role - this can be in an individual area or across a range of taxes.
- Show strong skills in excel and accounting technology systems.
- Be a confident and strong communicator, and able to report to senior stakeholders effectively.
- Have the ability to travel to Manchester CC twice per week or more when required by business needs.
The company are very open to individuals who are looking to re-train out of personal tax and take on some other tax work. Likewise, first time movers from practices are encouraged to apply.
