expanding and operate from our state-of-the-art manufacturing facility based in Gateshead.
We are now looking to recruit a permanent Logistics Manager for our Virtuoso Doors Division to join our team.
Summary:
Responsible for the logistics operated from Follingsby, this will necessitate collaborating closely with colleagues in locations
across the Group and managing colleagues in loading and distribution teams in Follingsby to deliver a service that consistently
meets customer expectations and is cost efficient.
Main Tasks and Duties / Responsibilities:
* To manage the logistics operation in Follingsby
* To liaise with colleagues within manufacturing in Follingsby to ensure all doors are ready in time to be loaded
* To oversee the efficient unload of inbound trunks from Customade Sites, ensuring deliveries are checked and put away into
correct distribution zones are required
* To ensure the efficient and accurate consolidation of loads to despatch from Follingsby
* To oversee outbound load preparation for items being despatched from Follingsby to customer premises or to Huntingdon
* To liaise with colleagues in the logistics operation in Huntingdon regarding forward transport planning and forecasting
* To review and add value to the transport plans and liaise with Group colleagues to drive efficiency in our transport operations
* To manage a small team of Drivers and loaders, on day and night shifts, in all aspects of people management
* To ensure all team members follow safe systems of work in the movement of product
* To implement KPIs for the logistics operation to measure performance and influence continual improvement
* To liaise with the Group colleagues to ensure all aspects of compliance associated with managing an in house fleet operation
are satisfied
* To ensure compliance with all relevant legislation, including but not limited to, drivers’ regulations and health, safety, and
environmental compliance
* To manage a logistics budget, working closely with Finance to ensure adherence to budget
* To manage agency relationships to support the availability of agency labour when required
* To maintain a safe, secure and compliant environment by operating within Company systems, policies, and procedures
* To demonstrate our company vision and values
Key Skills:
* Previous logistics experience, ideally at a management level and preferably in a third party or manufacturing environment
* Hold relevant CPC qualification
* IT Literate
* Familiarity with transport planning software
* Understanding of driver legislative regulations and compliance
* Ability to motivate and lead a team
* Attention to detail, highly numerate and accurate
* Logical and methodical approach
* Resilient with a flexible approach
* Ability to communicate at all levels of the organisation and make strong working relationships
* Customer focused
What we offer:
Salary: £40,000 + Annual Bonus
Contract: Permanent
Hours: Monday to Thursday 10am-6.30pm, Friday 9am-5.30pm (Flexibility when required)
