Job Summary
The QA/QC Specialist will be responsible for ensuring that engineering projects and processes meet established quality and safety standards. This role involves overseeing quality assurance programs, conducting quality control tests, and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements for engineering design, construction, and manufacturing processes.
Key Responsibilities
- Quality Assurance:
- Develop, implement, and maintain QA procedures for engineering projects and services.
- Work closely with design, project management, and construction teams to ensure quality integration throughout project lifecycle.
- Ensure that all engineering designs and deliverables meet client and regulatory quality expectations.
- Prepare and review technical documentation, including specifications, test plans, and risk assessments.
- Quality Control:
- Conduct inspections and tests on materials, components, and systems at various stages of engineering projects.
- Ensure quality standards are met in project phases, from design and prototyping to final construction and handover.
- Identify and document non-conformances or deviations from quality standards, and collaborate with engineering teams to implement corrective actions.
- Monitor quality metrics and provide reports to management on the status of QA/QC activities.
- Compliance:
- Ensure engineering projects comply with industry standards such as ISO 9001, ASME, ASTM, and other relevant standards.
- Keep up-to-date with regulatory changes and ensure engineering practices meet safety, environmental, and quality regulations.
- Ensure proper implementation and adherence to health, safety, and environmental (HSE) policies.
- Continuous Improvement:
- Analyze project data, defect rates, and quality trends to identify areas for process improvement.
- Lead and implement root cause analysis to resolve project quality issues and prevent recurrence.
- Promote a culture of continuous improvement by introducing new methodologies, tools, and techniques for improving quality in engineering processes.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Quality Management, or a related field.
- Proven experience in a QA/QC role within an engineering or construction environment.
- Strong understanding of engineering principles, construction processes, and quality control methodologies.
- Familiarity with industry standards such as ISO, or other engineering-specific quality standards.
- Proficiency with quality management tools, inspection methods, and testing techniques.
- Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
