You will lead the design development within the IDMT and liaising with the D7E Section Lead to ensure the delivery on time, optimised and in accordance with the Client's requirements. Key aspects of this role is in study of assisting in the optimisation/assumptions and liaison with the commercial, planning, design delivery teams and designers. You will assist in the coordination with Construction for management of topics such as GI, topographical surveys, and all other issues related with the design development for the structure's disciplines.
You will also provide support in design for constructability and TW integration (coordination with Construction and leading designer action) and assisting in the direct link to BOQ monitoring, model review, quality monitoring and control.
In addition you will coordinate of all design and assurance deliverables with interfacing organisations and maintain close liaison and collaboration with HS2 technical team as required.


About The Candidate

- Civil or Structural Engineering degree.
- Experience in major civil engineering works, in the structural design field.
- Experience working on large infrastructure projects.
- Knowledge of typical temporary works involved in the construction of major and standard bridges.
- Knowledge of relevant structures standards and its applicability for the design.
- A good communicator and able to build positive working relationships, internally and with the supply chain.

About The Role
At EKFB we’re shaping Infrastructure for a better tomorrow. All four of our partners (Eiffage, Kier, Ferrovial and BAM) bring specialist expertise in the design, construction, operation, financing and maintenance of railway networks, including the construction of one of Europe’s latest high speed rail projects.

We’re currently recruiting for a Structures Design Manager based in Milton Keynes.
In this role, you will manage all the Structures in all aspects of the design delivery; manage the design interface between the Construction team EKFB, the TW design and HS2. You will also manage the TQs and EWN concerning the structures design and support the administration of the Design subcontract and the Main contract raising EWNs, TQs and PMIs as appropriate in CEMAR. You will ensure that the constructability report developed by the Construction Team is aligned with the assumption of methodology and sequence of construction defined the start of the design.
Part of this role is also identify early warnings to mitigate risks, issues and enable the realisation of opportunities and promptly escalate issues to the line manager. You will ensure that in delivering designs, all best practice is integrated into the project. You will manage change control, internal approvals through established processes and monitor and participate in the design review process.
You will interact with the Supply Chain to ensure Technical Queries and all other design related issues are answered in a timely and efficient manner. In addition, you will actively promote and embed Equality, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) and support to comply with all organisational initiatives, policies and procedures on EDI.

About The Candidate

- Degree level qualification in civil engineering or the equivalent experience.
- Extensive experience in Bridge Design coordination
- Knowledge of HS2 act, Civil Engineering regulations (e.g., Eurocodes 2, British Standards)
- Knowledge of the CDM Principal Designer role
- Excellent communication skills

Your new role
The Problem Management Lead has two main areas of focus: Practice Ownership and Operational Management. In Practice Ownership, the role is responsible for the governance, design, implementation, and continuous improvement of ITIL practices within the organisation. This ensures that these practices consistently add value by aligning with ITIL best practices and organisational objectives. The role involves leading process development, managing performance, and working closely with stakeholders. In Operational Management, the role involves overseeing the daily operations of the SIAM practice, ensuring the effective integration and management of multiple service providers to deliver seamless IT services. This includes managing operational governance, driving service improvements, and ensuring all service providers meet agreed performance standards. Therefore, your responsibilities include (but are not limited):

• Leadership and Governance: Define and implement ITIL practices, ensuring alignment with organisational goals and compliance with standards.
• Process Management: Design, document, and maintain standardised processes and workflows, ensuring effective communication across the organisation.
• Continuous Improvement: Drive process optimisation and innovation, leveraging industry trends and emerging technologies.
• Service Integration: Oversee the coordination of services from multiple providers, ensuring seamless end-to-end delivery.
• Performance Management: Establish and monitor governance frameworks, SLAs, and KPIs, conducting regular performance reviews with service providers.
• Stakeholder Engagement: Act as the primary contact for stakeholders, managing escalations and facilitating governance meetings.

What you'll need to succeed

• Strong experience in IT problem management and worked in a SIAM or multi-supplier management role where you have designed and implemented.
• ITIL v3/v4 Foundation is required; additional ITIL certifications (e.g., Practitioner, Expert) are highly desirable.
• Broad understanding of ITSM tools and technologies. Experience with cloud-based ITSM solutions is a plus.
• Exceptional client-facing skills, with the ability to communicate complex ideas clearly and persuasively.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to quickly assess situations and propose effective solutions.
• Demonstrated ability to lead and manage cross-functional teams, including internal and external resources and client stakeholders.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with experience creating and delivering high-quality documentation, presentations, and reports.
• The ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities effectively.
