The primary purpose of this position is: as an Air Reserve Technician (ART), to perform pilot and pilot in command duties in assigned aircraft. Position also accomplishes a variety of administrative duties related to flight and mission accomplishment such as scheduling, squadron operations management, combat mission planning, and training. Provides training to reservists in the accomplishment of tasks set forth herein.

Duties and Responsibilities:

4. Performs pilot and pilot in command duties in assigned aircraft and provides a full range of ground and airborne flight instruction to Reservist, instructors, flight examiners, and assigned personnel in unit type aircraft.
5. Reviews mission tasking, intelligence, and weather information.
6. Performs mission planning, preparation and filing of flight plan, and crew briefing.
7. Pilot's aircraft and commands crew, operates aircraft controls and equipment.
8. Performs or directs navigation, in-flight refueling and weapons delivery.
9. Ensures operational readiness of crew by conducting mission specific training.
10. Develops plans and policies, monitors operations, and advises commanders.
11. Assists commanders and performs staff functions related to their aircraft specialty.
12. Interviews pilots assigned or attached to determine backgrounds and training in various types of aircraft, especially in the type of aircraft assigned to the unit.
13. Schedules pilots as to type, phase and degree of flying training required and scheduling individual pilots for extra flying hours when determined necessary.
14. Conducts a continuous and aggressive flying safety program and maintains a complete file on flying safety matters for the education of all assigned aircrew.

• Act in the capacity of Fire Prevention Inspection and advisor to the Assistant Fire Chief.
• Conduct both fire prevention and fire reaction training to all military and civilian on the installation and the surrounding community (public schools, civic clubs, nursing homes, etc.).
• Perform fire protection and prevention inspections for the reason of detecting, controlling, and eliminating hazards throughout the installation.
• Review plans and specifications for new construction and alterations and extensions of existing structures.

• Advise depot organizations of control points such as financial budget matters, stock fund, and issuing of stock.
• Provide supply organizations support for activities that are unique to the organization’s mission.

• Analyze protection plans submitted by subordinate organizations to provide the commander with informed advice on significant trends in the organization's protection operations.
• Assist subordinate Anti-terrorism (AT), Physical Security (PS), and OPSEC Officers in the development of protection plans, and monitor/inspect their plans for effectiveness.
• Develop and publish exercise guidance, coordinating the creation of all necessary exercise products, including Master Scenario Events List (MSEL) items, implementation plans, and control staff instructions.
• Provide support to higher headquarters and subordinate organizations in developing directives, plans, and scenarios related to protection emergency operations and exercises.
