1. Role and responsibilities of Local Committee Members
Whether a parent member, a general member, or a staff member, our Local Committee members bring valuable information from a variety of perspectives to help make strategic decisions about the school as a whole. The Local Committee is a committee of the trust board and should feel part of the wider structure we have in place for governance, to provide assurance to the trustee directors that every child in our schools is learning, achieving and flourishing in a safe environment.
The role of a LC member is largely a thinking and questioning role; they are not charged with the operational issues in managing a school day-to-day but are required to oversee its long term development in conjunction with the trust. LCs rely on a variety of experiences and perspectives. No specific prior knowledge is required and the trust seeks volunteers with a range of skills and backgrounds. Training and support are available for new and existing members and is free of charge. 
In order to perform this role well, a local committee member is expected to: 
get to know the school, including by visiting the school occasionally during school hours, and gain a good understanding of the school’s strengths and weaknesses; 
attend induction training and regular relevant training and development events; 
attend meetings (LC meetings and other events) and read all the papers before the meeting; 
act in the best interest of all the pupils of the school; and 
behave in a professional manner, as set down in the Trust code of conduct including acting in strict confidence and adhering to the Nolan Principles – leadership, selflessness, objectivity, openness, integrity, honesty and accountability.

Full Time Premises Assistant Required
Salary £24,568 (36 hours/week)
To commence January 2025We are seeking a Premises Assistant to join the team in ensuring that school site and grounds are maintained in a safe, clean and orderly condition, in readiness for teaching and other activities undertaken on the premises. Duties include porterage, light maintenance, furniture and equipment set up and cleaning duties. We are looking for someone who can work constructively as part of a team, able to follow direction and build good relationships with colleagues and students. Experience of a similar role or relevant skills and a ‘can do’ attitude are required, together with good verbal and written communication skills and the ability to use initiative and work flexibly. The ideal candidate will be happy to work outdoors to maintain high standards of presentation of our site and grounds, training will be available. Normal hours of work are expected to be Monday to Friday with the final working pattern to be agreed with the job holder. One in four weeks, the job holder is required to work a Saturday as a key holder and overseer of school lettings and will have a day off during the preceding week (day off to be agreed with job holder). The working pattern on Saturdays will involve on site presence and general duties from 8.15am – 12.15 pm and then locking up between 6.00pm and 6.30pm. The focus of the whole school approach is in three core areas: education, independence and inclusion. Based on these core areas we provide individual, person-centred programmes which recognise individual abilities and strengths and help students to reach their full potential. Main duties and expectations: You will receive and respond promptly to referrals undertaking initial assessments to establish the scope, level and nature of the individual young person's therapeutic and mental health needs. You will lead and facilitate group and/or individual therapy sessions, short and long-term, ensuring interventions continue to meet the needs of the YP and are consistent with the provisions detailed in their therapy plan. You will manage, monitor and review an assigned caseload, ensuring delivery within the agreed timescales. Ability to work independently and with previous experience of working with young people with ASD, preferably within an education setting, is essential.
