JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

• Set and communicate team priorities that support the broader organization's goals. Align strategy, processes, and decision-making across teams.

• Develop the mid-term technical vision and roadmap within the scope of your (often multiple) team(s). Evolve the roadmap to meet anticipated future requirements and infrastructure needs.
• Design, guide and vet systems designs within the scope of the broader area, and write product or system development code to solve ambiguous problems.
• Review code developed by other engineers and provide feedback to ensure best practices (e.g., style guidelines, checking code in, accuracy, testability, and efficiency).

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent practical experience.
• 5 years of experience with software development in one or more programming languages (e.g., Python, C, C++, Java, JavaScript).
• 3 years of experience in a technical leadership role; overseeing strategic projects, with 2 years of experience in a people management, supervision/team leadership role.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science or related technical field.
• 3 years of experience working in a complex, matrixed organization.

Reporting to the Team Lead of Resource Planning and Management (RPM), the incumbent will work with relevant stakeholders to analyze and understand the process workflows in the division before proposing solutions through technology and automation to improve operational productivity and efficiency. This includes looking at best practices and propose agile, robust and intuitive workflows that lead to better work outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

1. Assist in developing and implementing dashboards, reports and visualizations for tracking and monitoring of Division’s key performance indicators.
2. Facilitate/ conduct training and provide guidance to various process owners and end users in the usage of the implemented solutions.
3. Execute divisional events and activities that focus on sharing of automation best practices.
4. Participate in User Acceptance Testing for any system enhancement or upgrade arising from process improvement initiatives.
5. Undertake any other duties assigned by the Director or supervising officer to ensure efficient operation of the Division.

Job Requirements

1. Good University Degree, preferably in Business Administration/ Management or relevant field and experience, with around 3 years of work experience in a similar education or corporate environment.
2. Knowledge in Excel VBA to load and transform raw data is highly desirable.
3. Knowledge in data collection, data manipulation and using appropriate tools and techniques for visualization and analysis will also be an added advantage.
4. Working knowledge and experience in process automation tools such as Robotic Process Automation (RPA) would be advantageous.
5. Proficient and familiar with Microsoft Office tools.
6. Possess an open mind and be able to adapt to a fast-changing environment.
7. Have strong project management skills and attention to detail, and willing to take on responsibilities in a dynamic environment.
8. Able to manage projects, including creating project plans, tracking progress, and reporting on results.
9. Ability to effectively communicate with a wide range of individuals in a diverse community and possess the confidence to front different parties.
10. Ability to work as a team member among multiple stakeholders and exhibit leadership skills.

Reporting to the Senior Manager of Engineering, you will lead a team of software engineers responsible for building and delivering solutions in the area of membership and eventing for the common Identity platform. In this hybrid role, you will lead a team developing modern cloud services, in an Agile environment.

Minimum Qualifications

• BS in engineering, computer science, or equivalent industry experience
• 10+ years of relevant industry experience, with 5+ years of hands-on technical leadership and 2+ years of experience managing development teams
• Previously managed teams of engineers with ownership of high-scale production systems
• Experienced in one or more of the tech stacks and tools that includes AWS, Golang, C#, Python, Java etc
• Experienced in creating telemetry for the service using Splunk, New Relic, Datadog or their equivalents
• Experience with big-picture thinking, able to resolve complex and ambiguous issues from a business and technical perspective
• Solid understanding of software development lifecycle, principles, practices, and methodologies
• Have insights about commo`n engineering practice challenges and experience leading teams to fix/improve them
• Expert experience with Scrum and Agile development processes and methodologies
• Experience working with remote teams and other cross-functional stakeholders
• Willingness to collaborate with colleagues across different time zones, may require limited work outside regular working hours
