Under Trainee Teacher (English), you will assume the role of Trainee Teacher position focus on looking after children from 18 months to 6 years old.

You will be attached at My First Skool centre and be trained and mentored to equip you with practical teaching skills. You will also be sponsored to pursue the Diploma in Early Childhood Teaching (Conversion) and be provided with a competitive salary while you are on place and train scheme. Upon successful completion of course, you will be re-designated as English Childcare Teacher and serve a year bond.

The Trainee Infant Care Teacher scheme is place-and-train programme designed to immerse you in the infant care environment. Through a combination of classroom training and workplace attachment, you will be provided real time feedback and peer support for your optimal learning.

As a Trainee Infant Care Teacher, you will be focusing on looking after infants from 2 to 18 months by creating a safe and conducive learning environment for infants. You will be enrolled for the WSQ Advanced Certificate in Early Years (ACEY) course that specialize in the learning and development of children aged 0 to 3 years old.

Upon graduation, you will be awarded the ACEY certificate and deployed as an Infant Care Teacher teaching infants aged 2 to 18 months. A 1-year bond is applicable.

Requirements:

• Possess at least GCE O Levels or GCE N Levels and above
• Diploma holders are welcome to apply
• Possess at least a C6 in English 'O' level or a score of an average SOA 5 in the Workplace Literacy Series (WPL), including level 5 for WPL (Written)
• Enjoys working with infants from 2 to 18 months, and comfortable with performing routine care duties for infants
• Good interpersonal and communication skills
• Able to work rotating day shifts and on one Saturday every 4 weeks
• Prior experience of taking care of infants will be advantageous

Job Description:

We are looking for passionate individuals who are keen to enter the Early Childhood industry under the Career Conversion Programme (CCP) for Preschool Educators. This is a full-time role as a Trainee Teacher in our childcare centre, while being sponsored for the course.

Under the CCP, selected candidates will work as a Trainee Teacher at any one of the YMCA’s Child Development Centres while being sponsored for the course. There would be structured training programme provided which comprises of Synchronous e-learning training and On-the-Job training at the centre. The programme will be conducted over 13 - 16 months duration.

Upon completion of the programme, you will be a qualified trained educator certified by ECDA with the attainment of the WSQ Professional Diploma in Early Childhood Care and Education.

Job Responsibilities:

3. Manage family and community programmes.
4. Conduct routine caregiving.

Job Requirements:

• No relevant experience is required.
