About the Role:

We are looking for patient and caring individuals to join a dedicated team at this adult day centre that provides essential support to autistic learners aged 18 and over. As a Learning Support Worker, you will:

• Work individually and in small groups to support the development of knowledge and skills that enhance learners' well-being, independence, and social inclusion.
• Use behaviour-driven teaching strategies and interventions to promote positive outcomes and development.
• Work both within our Centre for Lifelong Learning and accompany our learners in the community, applying their learning to real-world situations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide comprehensive support, care, and teaching to autistic adult learners.
• Plan, prepare, and deliver lessons and activities that support knowledge and skill development.
• Offer behaviourally based support to reduce behaviours that negatively impact the quality of life.
• Provide personal care, encouraging and enabling adult learners to maintain acceptable levels of hygiene, including toileting, dressing, and washing.
• Support adult learners' participation in social, leisure, and educational activities within the local community.
• Assist learners in accessing work experience and employment opportunities.
• Monitor and track learners' progress to ensure that the support, care, and teaching provided are effective and tailored to their needs.
