About us
The Data Analytics & Insight team is dedicated to transforming data into actionable insights that help support the council to deliver public services to the people of Salford. Our team comprises of an analytical function and a data engineering function. The analytical function provides analysis and insights, whilst the data engineering function develops and maintains the data architecture that allows our analysts to provide the insights that the council needs.
The team is part of the council’s innovative and multi-award winning Digital, Data and Technology service, known as DDaT. As part of DDaT, the team has access to a wide range of tools, technologies and expertise that are at the forefront of digital service delivery.
About the Role
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Senior Analyst to play a key role in providing data and insight support to our Adult Social Care and Health Partnerships directorate. The directorate supports a wide range of services including adult social care, housing, homelessness, and health improvement. Knowledge of any of these service areas would be advantageous, but is not essential. You will also work with other council services when the need arises.
You will be responsible for providing research, analysis, modelling, forecasting, segmentation, Power BI dashboard development, performance indicators, and benchmarking. You will also help to implement the councils data strategy as well support with developing and managing the delivery of the teams business plan. You will also be responsible for seeking out opportunities for service improvement and promote the adoption of new approaches to data and insight.
About you
We are looking for someone who:
- Will take a lead in helping to shape and deliver data and insight services
- Interested in seeing data used to help people and communities
- Able to plan and organise projects
- Can manage and develop a small team of analysts
- Experience of using tools such as Power BI
- Able to collaborate with data specialists, analysts, and other stakeholders to understand data requirements.
- Stay current with emerging technologies and best practices in data analysis.
- Can build and maintain strong working relationships with customers
- Has an inquisitive disposition
