The post holder will be one of a team responsible for a variety of core activities within the Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable functions.

Accounts Payable - the main duties will be processing purchase invoices using our finance packages in line with policy and assisting with query management and resolution of disputes. Along with managing the team mailbox, in a professional and timely manner. Assisting with the creation and maintenance of supplier accounts.

Account Receivable – the main duties will be to assist in the production of charges to customers, dunning letters and statements. Logging and resolving customer queries promptly, liaising with the requestor and keeping all parties updated. Assisting the monitoring of debts, ensuring payment with agreed terms.

They must be flexible and willing to cross train to cover the above functions.

This vacancy will be based at either University Bristol and Weston Foundation Hospital - Trust HQ and/or Weston General Hospital, with an element of remote working.
• Ensure that supplier transactions are appropriately matched to the official order, confirming supplier details, checking financial codes are valid and ensuring charges and VAT is dealt with correctly.
• For non-PO invoices, entering the correct location codes and descriptions before uploading to the ledger. Loading all non-purchase order invoices onto Invoice Approval for budget holder confirmation.
• Investigate and escalate any issues, communicating with all parties and ensuring prompt resolution of issues.
• Reconcile supplier accounts/statements, liaising with the suppliers or approvers.
• Monitor debts being settled by instalment payments, ensuring compliance with the agreed terms of payment.
• Printing and distribution of sales invoices, reminder letters and debtor statements.
• Plan and manage personal workload in order to meet key dates and performance targets.
• Assist in the management of busy mailboxes and answer telephone queries.
• Initiate the need for new supplier records/amendments to existing supplier records.
• Undertake the preparation of documentation and prompt scanning of supplier invoices and credit notes.
• Ensure scanned documents have been accurately recorded by the ‘Optical Character Recognition’ software, before accepting image and data transfer to the E-Financials Accounts Payable system. Include any additional information required.

University Hospitals Bristol and Weston NHS Foundation Trust is seeking to appoint a full time Consultant in Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery (OMFS) with a specialist interest in skin cancer This appointment is part of an expansion plan within our department aimed at addressing increased demand for our regional specialist service. The 10.75 session post is for 12 months in the first instance but consideration of converting to a substantive position will be given after this period.

The applicant will be expected to form an integral part of the established OMFS Service. They should have broad experience of treating the full remit of our specialty’s work but this post has a particular emphasis on management of skin cancer. The post is part funded by the dermatology service which our department works collaboratively with. The applicant should be prepared to contribute to working with both the head & neck and skin MDTs. A fellowship in skin cancer would be considered desirable to address the complex case mix within our department.

The position has scope to be part of the Pan Avon on-call rota at a 1:8 level with doubly qualified StRs and dentally qualified DCT forming the first two tiers of the rota. The applicant should therefore be experienced in the whole remit of OMFS trauma and would be expected to contribute to trauma management.

The Department of General Anaesthesia sits within the Division of Surgery; however, the wider anaesthesia service bridges four clinical divisions of UHBW: Surgery (general anaesthesia and critical care), Specialised Services (cardiac anaesthesia), Women’s and Children’s (paediatric and obstetric anaesthesia) and Weston. The department of anaesthesia is seeking locum consultants in general anaesthesia to join the team based at the Bristol Royal Infirmary. The applicant must hold FRCA (UK) or equivalent and be within 6 months of their CCT date at the time of interview. We are looking for applicants who are prepared to work flexibly to ensure smooth service delivery. More detailed person specification is available with the job description.

This post will be based at the Bristol Royal Infirmary with one clinical day each week at Weston General Hospital. The post will address a flexible service requirement for adult general anaesthetic services for maxillofacial, ENT, dental, obstetrics, gynaecology, thoracic, upper & lower GI and ophthalmic surgery, fixed lines, the acute pain service, chronic pain and pre-operative assessment. The post holder will be expected to contribute to the predictable out-of-hours weekend rota across both sites.

The role will be split across the following hospital sites: Bristol Royal Infirmary, Weston General Hospital, St Michael’s Hospital, Bristol Eye Hospital and South Bristol Community Hospital.

The role of the Solicitor is to support the Healthcare Legal Services Team in the provision of a dedicated in-house legal service, which includes the following core areas:



· Claims: management of clinical negligence and third party claims, in line with NHSR’s schemes. We work closely with clinicians and our Divisions to robustly defend claims, protecting the interests of the Trust.

· Inquests: support and representation of staff in the Coroner’s Court. We work closely with our local Coroners on a large portfolio of inquests.

· Healthcare advice: including but not limited to consent, capacity, data protection, Mental Capacity Act, and Mental Health Act, for both adults and children. We manage High Court Applications inhouse, at a significant cost saving to the Trust.

· Disclosure requests: assisting the police and local authority on childcare and criminal proceedings, where the Trust may not be a party to proceedings. We have experience of managing complex childcare proceedings inhouse, as the South West regional centre for children.

· Training: internal and external training on above core areas of work.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a fixed term (12 month) Locum Consultant post in the Haematology Department within Bristol Haematology and Oncology Centre.

University Hospitals Bristol and Weston NHS Foundation Trust is one of the largest acute Trusts in the country and a major teaching and research centre for the South West.

The adult Haematology department has 16 haematology consultants who work between Bristol and Weston Hospitals based at Bristol Haematology & Oncology Centre (BHOC).

The Bristol Haematology Unit offers tertiary level service for stem cell transplants, CAR T cell therapy, Haemostasis and Haemophilia, haemato-oncology, and haemoglobinopathy.

There is a strong emphasis on research with BHOC trials unit actively recruiting in over 100 trials. There are close links with the University of Bristol and the University of the West of England.

The successful candidate must be registered with the GMC with a valid license to practice and should have completed Specialist Training (or equivalent) and be entered on the Specialist Register of the GMC, or have a CCT date in Haematology within six months of the date of interview.

This is a fulltime (10PA) Locum Consultant post in Haematology based at the University Hospitals Bristol and Weston NHS. This post is across both Bristol and Weston and will support the integration of haematology services in Bristol and Weston. This is a locum appointment with a view to a substantive post with a specialist interest in Laboratory Haematology and Myeloid disease. The post includes Laboratory attending on a 1 in 8 basis.

The post-holder will take part in the 3 clinics per week including two Malignant haematology clinics with a myeloid focus one in Weston and one in Bristol working alongside colleagues. There is also a Myeloma clinic in Weston working alongside the Myeloma team. In addition they will participate in a 2 week wait clinic on a rotational basis 1 in 3 or 4 weeks. Laboratory attended takes place in Bristol and involves supervision of the Laboratory SpR reporting blood films and bone marrow aspirates from Bristol and Weston, and review of Haematology outliers in Bristol. There is also an on site laboratory in Weston where blood films are reviewed and reported.

The post holder will also contribute to an email advice and guidance service for GPs for UHBW.

In its current format the post does not have out of hours but this and acute ward attending in Bristol is negotiable.

The role of Outpatient Appointment Coordinator is to serve as a contact for patients accessing our services. The role is therefore responsible for setting high standards of patient care by enacting the Trust’s values at all times.

Communication:

- To liaise with patients, wards, clinical staff, GPs and Trust support staff in person, via telephone and email as and when necessary
- Escalate patient queries and any general issues to clinical staff or line manager as appropriate

Patient Care:

- To show a caring and professional approach towards patients, relatives and carers. This may require acting with resilience to deal with sometimes distressed patients and relatives in an empathetic manner
- Lung Multi-Disciplinary Team (MDT) – provide patients with next step information as directed by team.
- Add patients to the Ward admissions list review and amend as guided by the Medics.

Organising and Planning:

- To carry out associated clerical duties, for example maintaining accurate filing systems, receiving post, arranging couriers and scanning patient notes if required
- To keep patient information materials up to date
- Upload documents into clinical systems
- Accurately and efficiently enter data into an External National Database

The post will be a combination of service provision including out of hours and paid time to develop a specialist interest. The candidate is to combine a job in Emergency Medicine with a 20% time allowance for a specialist interest. The senior clinical fellow posts include 80% time working in the adult emergency department and 20% paid time to develop in a specialist interest of the successful candidate’s choice. The posts are open as OOPT/E for EM HSTs and as stand-alone posts for non-trainees and can be 100% EM if required. We are also open to SAS and Specialty Doctors. Applicants should hold a relevant postgraduate qualification (MRCEM, MRCP, MRCS, FRCA or equivalent), and should be ST4 + or equivalent, having completed a minimum of 3 years in approved SHO posts (Post Foundation Medicine) or equivalent in relevant acute specialities including at least 1 year in Emergency Medicine.

Clinical

The reception, diagnosis and emergency treatment of patients presenting to the adult Emergency Department. The successful candidate will be given supervision and support from senior medical staff to develop competency in the autonomous clinical management of these patients whilst ensuring patient safety. This post is based in the adult Emergency Department and no sessions will be undertaken in the paediatric Emergency Department.

There is close liaison between ED and ICU at BRI. Patients referred to Specialist Units within the hospital are the responsibility of that specialist team, who will see the patient in the Emergency Department and arrange appropriate care. However, medical and nursing staff in the ED are responsible for any emergency care necessary. This shared care is seamless and collaborative.

Managerial

The management responsibility of the post holder will be to the Clinical Director who is responsible to the Chief Executive and Trust Board. .

For this post the 20% speciality Interest will be in the Community Emergency Medicine Service (CEMS).

Our Bristol Community Emergency Medicine is looking to recruit Emergency Medicine ST4 equivalent (or higher) with a specific interest in community care and pathway development. 20% of their time would be dedicated to Community Emergency Medicine; working with the Specialist Paramedics in Urgent and Emergency Care, responding to the whole spectrum of prehospital cases and assisting crews in assessment and treatment on scene.

Clinical Audit and Clinical Governance

The post holder must be aware of clinical governance and clinical risk management and take an active part in their implementation, including audit. Clinical audit is established at the BRI. They will participate in at least one supervised audit project during the 12 month post and will be encouraged to attend interdisciplinary clinical governance meetings.

On-Call Commitment

In ED the roster is a full shift system. Shifts are a balanced mix of earlies, mids, lates, and nights. The post’s pay will be calculated by HR and will be compliant with the new regulations set in Aug 2017
