Sheffield Park Academy and Sheffield Springs Academy have an exciting opportunity to appoint a Cluster Education Welfare Officer to work across two United Learning Yorkshire Cluster schools. We are looking for someone to join both schools in their rapid improvement journeys as we continue to support children and families in the local area to improve school attendance.
Both academies are committed to ensuring students can access all the academic, extra-curricular and social opportunities and support that we provide through regular attendance. We believe all students want to attend school and in instances when this is not happening, we are committed to providing support and intervention to remove barriers.
This role requires a highly focussed individual who is organised and passionate about making a difference for our students, academies and local community. The postholder will lead and deliver an outstanding Education Welfare provision, ensuring a high level of service that supports all staff in providing outstanding learning and progress for our students.
We are seeking a highly skilled attendance, safeguarding and welfare practitioner who (together with the Attendance teams that they will line manage) improves attendance, ensures effective safeguarding and promotes the welfare of all students. We are looking for someone who is:
- A strategic leader
- Experience in attendance or associated discipline as an advanced practitioner.
- Experienced in managing and developing a team.
- Reliable, highly motivated and self-driven.
- Experienced with IT packages such as Outlook, Word and Excel.
- Experienced with an excellent knowledge and understanding of Education Welfare.
- Keen on attention to detail, has high standards and takes pride in their work.
- Keen to be part of and lead a team of staff.
- A team player with strong communication skills who works collaboratively across the local group of United Learning schools.
