Key Responsibilities:

• Collaborate effectively cross-functionally with Marketing, Sales, Category Management, Finance, and Business Analytics, with regular engagement to ensure strategic insights and secondary research data inform their business plans, strategies and selling stories.

• Provide expertise, coaching, and training to cross-functional partners on how to effectively gather and interpret information from primary and secondary information sources for consumer, shopper and eye care professional insights.

• Manage brand health tracking, advertising testing, packaging testing, and brand perception KPI strategy for OTC brands.

• Design custom primary research to answer specific prioritized business questions.

• Manage onsite Circana/IRI contractors, including prioritizing efforts to support the information and analytics needs of the Alcon user community, particularly the insights needs of the OTC Brand team.

• Lead advanced market research projects such as Marketing Mix, Consumer/Customer Segmentation, Price Elasticity, SKU/Assortment Optimization, Matched Market and Market Structure.

• Manage secondary and primary research budgets and contracts for OTC brands and oversee vendor relationships, training, reporting systems, tools and insight development. 

• Collaborate with global marketing peers to drive strong strategic alignment on consumer and HCP insights.

• Consult with / guide Sr. Leadership in development of key presentations, such as QBR, Integrated Business Planning, Target Submission, Annual Budgeting, New Product Planning

Experiential Learning Opportunity/Project Description:

As a Summer Intern supporting OTC, you will be trusted to lead a cross-functional team to assess and make recommendations to senior leadership related to innovation and competitive defense strategies and opportunities. In this role, you will:

• Deep dive into large, adjacent OTC Eyecare categories in which Alcon either does not participate or has historically deprioritized to assess potential innovation pathways.
• Partner with our shopper, trade, and media partners to understand how competitors operate in these adjacent categories.
• Partner with Insights, Circana (formerly IRI), Marketing, Finance, and others to gain insights and develop category analysis.

As an IT Procurement Category Manager, supporting the Procurement Team, you will work with project teams in the identification, negotiation, evaluation, contracting, and supplier relationship management of suppliers in a high-quality, timely, and cost-effective manner.

In this role, a typical day will include:

• Support project teams in the identification, negotiation, evaluation, contracting and supplier relationship management of suppliers in a high quality, timely and cost-effective manner.
• Support the business with contracting (negotiation and implementation of frame agreements, services agreements, confidentiality agreements and other agreements).
• Procurement category management with a focus in Information Technology (cloud services, professional services, infrastructure, hardware, software, etc.).
• Extensive knowledge of working with suppliers, third parties and external service providers, ideally in pharmaceutical and medical device industry.
• Indirect Operations (e.g., Office Supplies, Computers, Travel, Maintenance, Machine Parts, etc.)
• Procurement processes include: Product/Service Sourcing , Supplier Selection, Pricing/Terms Negotiation, Order Processing, Contract Administration Supplier Performance Management, May include Strategic Sourcing.
• Create full spend transparency (spend baselines, KPIs, and metrics).
• Ensure support to the project leaders and cross-functional teams in the selection and management of suppliers and service providers on a project-to-project basis and link these decisions with the overall global category strategies.

WHAT YOU WILL BRING TO ALCON:

Key Requirements/Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree or Equivalent years of directly related experience (or high school +13 yrs.; Assoc. +9 yrs.; M.S. +2 yrs.; PhD+0 yrs.)
• The ability to fluently read, write, understand and communicate in English
• 5 Years of Relevant Experience

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with procurement category management with a focus in Information Technology (cloud services, professional services, infrastructure, hardware, software, etc.)
• Excellent negotiation skills and knowledge to set up supply & service agreements in close cooperation with internal legal departments
• Experience with SAP Ariba; analytics experience, as well as experience utilizing spend analytics tools, a plus

We foster an inclusive culture and are looking for diverse, talented people to join Alcon as a Senior Digital Product Manager focusing on Engineering and Support experience within the Digital Health Technology Foundational services organization. As we accelerate design and development of new and innovative digital health products at Alcon, a dedicated product manager focusing on software engineering and support experience for the engineer persona is critical for aligning product development with the needs of engineering teams, optimizing processes, enhancing user experience, providing effective support, and fostering continuous improvement. In this role, you will oversee the standardization of DevOps practices, adoption of leading-edge software tools, and drive process improvements for production support metrics and SLAs as new digital health products are deployed to our customers. This role requires strong collaboration and communication with various cross-functional teams including Digital Health Product/Engineering, R&D, IT and Digital Operations, in support of Alcon’s Global Digital Transformation. This will be in our Fort Worth, Texas office and a typical day will include:

• Develop and implement a comprehensive strategy and roadmap for engineering and support experience across all Digital Health Foundational Services, integrating DevOps practices and leading-edge software tools adoption.
• Work closely with engineering teams to standardize DevOps practices, identify and adopt cutting-edge software tools, and ensure the delivery of high-quality, scalable, and secure Digital Health Foundational Services.
• Lead efforts to improve the customer support experience, including process improvements, revamping L3/L4 production support metrics and SLAs, to ensure timely and effective resolution of customer issues for newly deployed digital health products.
• Collaborate with Digital Health, R&D, IT and regional/service teams to prioritize features, enhancements, and bug fixes based on customer feedback, business impact, and technical feasibility.
• Communicate regularly with stakeholders, including executive leadership, to provide updates on the status of engineering and support initiatives, key metrics, and strategic direction.
• Define and track key performance indicators (KPIs) related to engineering and support experience, analyze data to find opportunities for improvement, and drive continuous optimization efforts.
• Perform regular product demos with the larger cross-functional team.
• Stay current with the latest trends in digital health and modern Software engineering tools and practices
