- Serve as Chief, Hydrologic Studies Section within Walla Walla District.
- Exercise technical and administrative supervision of staff consisting of engineers, scientists, technicians, and student interns, ranging in grade from GS-3 through GS-13.
- Oversee hydrologic studies and analysis as it relates to such things as rainfall modeling, reservoir operations, runoff volume forecasting, and developing flow frequencies in ungaged basins.
- Oversee special research studies and investigations related to climate, floods, dam breaks, evaporation, wind, waves, ice, snow hydrology, and water supply.
- Oversee the management of the District’s sediment range program.
- Provide support to the following types of projects: large multipurpose hydroelectric, navigation, and flood control dams, fish and wildlife facilities, recreation facilities, planning studies and other civil works projects.
- Oversee all Hydrologic Studies work for the District.
- Perform supervisory personnel management responsibilities; establish work schedules and priorities to ensure mission requirements are achieved.
- Provide technical and policy guidance for the accomplishment of Section assignments and ensure review of completed work for technical adequacy and accuracy, technical judgment, soundness, and compliance with established criteria.
- Perform or resource District quality control reviews, independent technical reviews, and agency technical reviews of products in the Hydrologic Studies area of expertise completed by the Section, A/E firms and other Districts.
- Initiate and attend conferences, workgroups, and meetings regarding Hydrologic Studies.
