- Provide expertise and field supervision in the area of engineering geology related to earthen dams and levees.
- Work includes construction of major civil works projects on earthen dams, filter drain installation, large water control structures and levees.
- Take appropriate measures to ensure work quality, verify compliance with contract provisions, and the resolve technical problems during site preparation and construction operations.
- Provide authoritative advice on geotechnical and geologic conditions and how these conditions could impact both design and construction.
- Stay abreast of latest technical developments and state of the practice in geology, dam safety, and geotechnical engineering with emphasis on engineering geology problems and geophysical investigative methods
- Review design calculations to validate assumption and data are correct.
- Identify contractor activities, means and methods not meeting contract requirements.
