The Estates and Facilities Department at the University of Nottingham provides strategic and operational services support to the University infrastructure, buildings, and landholdings. We are a large and diverse department employing approximately 1300 people and provide a wide range of services across our U.K sites.

We are looking for an experienced Operations Manager with excellent management skills to manage internal resources and third-party providers undertaking cleaning operations, building attendance services, reception services and a range of cleaning activities in all academic and administrative buildings across our U.K campus.

The successful candidate will supervise the Domestic Services cleaning team, training and developing direct reports to ensure that they are supported to deliver a high-quality service. Other duties include reviewing staff structures, the recruitment and selection of the team and conducting service and Health and Safety audits to ensure the department remains compliant to university policies and associated legislation.

Candidates should hold an HNC/D in a relevant subject or have an equivalent qualification plus relevant formal training with experience in a similar or related role or have a proven record of extensive relevant work experience demonstrating practical and theoretical knowledge in a Domestic Services environment. It is also essential that you have proven experience of managing, motivating, engaging, recognising, empowering, and communicating effectively with large complex teams. Due to the frequency with which candidates will be required to drive around and between University sites a valid driving licence is essential for this post.

Based on our award winning University Park campus you will be responsible for the day to day operation of one of our busy kitchens within the student Halls of Residence. Main duties will include the preparation and service of a wide range of meals to a high standard and all aspects of staff management within the kitchen and dining room. The University of Nottingham Centre for Dairy Science Innovation (CDSI) is part of the Agri-Tech National centre for Dairy research and has an opportunity for an Assistant Farm Manager (Dairy) to join the team.

This role is an opportunity for an experienced person with a proven track record of working in dairy farming to high standards who is willing to take on more responsibility.

You will support the Farm Manager (Dairy) in all aspects of animal husbandry, feeding, milking (via Lely Astronauts) and hygiene. Once settled you will provide rota cover for the Farm Manager (Dairy) and will therefore be the responsible person on site for a considerable number of days per year.

Due to the nature of the role, you will be expected to live in a house provided by the University close to the CDSI, for which the rent is almost entirely subsidised by the farm.

You will also have experience of managing a team and will have experience of operating a wide range of farm equipment. An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Support and Wellbeing Service, part of the Student and Campus Life Division, as a Support and Wellbeing Manager, linking closely with students in the Faculty of Engineering.

This is a challenging role, managing as small team of staff who provide frontline wellbeing support to students as part of a wider wellbeing network. This role will primarily be based on the University Park, and some cross-campus work may be required.

Students can be referred into the Support and Wellbeing team via academic or support staff or may choose to seek support themselves and self-refer. Our support can be accessed in a variety of ways with students being advised via face-to-face appointments, video calls, telephone appointments, or by email.

An important part or the role will be leading a team who advise students with difficult or challenging wellbeing circumstances, supporting them to follow the relevant university policies and processes and access specialist wellbeing services. You will provide some direct wellbeing support to students, however the main elements of the role will be team management, working with colleagues across the University and building networks with other staff within the Faculty of Engineering.

You will have a degree or relevant experience, knowledge of Higher Education academic culture and have previous advice work experience, or equivalent. You will be highly motivated, organised, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills, demonstrating sound judgment under pressure. The Midlands Centre for Data-driven Metrology (MCDDM) is hosted by the University of Nottingham. You will be based at the QMC campus and will work as part of a multi-disciplinary team coordinating multi-centre UK and international stroke trials.
