Job Overview:
We are seeking an experienced and proactive Workplace Safety and Health Manager to oversee and ensure the safety, compliance, and well-being of our employees. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in safety management, risk assessment, incident investigation, and regulatory compliance, with a commitment to fostering a culture of safety within the organization.
Key Responsibilities:
- Safety Management & Compliance: Develop, implement, and manage workplace safety policies in line with government regulations and company standards. Ensure compliance with the Workplace Safety and Health (WSH) Act, conducting audits, inspections, and risk assessments.
- Risk Assessment & Hazard Management: Lead risk assessments for work activities, identify hazards, and coordinate mitigation strategies. Ensure safety practices are adhered to across all projects.
- Incident Investigation & Reporting: Lead investigations into workplace incidents and near-misses, document findings, and recommend corrective actions. Ensure proper reporting of incidents and occupational diseases to relevant authorities.
- Training & Development: Design and deliver safety training programs, including WSH compliance, emergency response, and toolbox talks. Organize regular safety drills and ensure staff are adequately trained.
- Safety Culture & Continuous Improvement: Promote a positive safety culture, driving continuous improvement through safety data analysis, trend identification, and implementing preventive measures.
- Emergency Preparedness: Oversee the development of emergency preparedness plans and conduct periodic drills for fire safety, evacuation, and first aid readiness.
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- Registered Workplace Safety and Health Officer (WSHO) certification is mandatory.
- Additional certifications (e.g., Fire Safety Manager, ISO Lead Auditor) are a plus.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in workplace safety and health, with at least 2 years in a managerial or supervisory role.
- Strong knowledge of WSH regulations, risk management, and incident investigation.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- 2 years contract, convertible and renewable
