We’re looking for a General Manager to take the helm and help us deliver experiences that delight. This exciting role will see you head up the front of the business and work with passionate people in an inspiring part of the world.

Nestled on the quay, the Samuel Jones is a stylish place to eat and drink in Exeter where contemporary and imaginative dishes are served with award-winning beers and a welcoming atmosphere.

You’ll be working at a popular bar and restaurant that’s found on one of the city’s most pleasing stretches, with a wealth of enviable sights and destinations on the doorstep.

We offer a two-bedroom live-in accommodation above the pub, allowing you to fully embrace the vibrant lifestyle of Exeter both at work and at home.

About you:

• You head up the front of the business, leading a team of passionate team members to deliver experiences that delight.
• You champion the spirit and values of St Austell Brewery, inspiring those around you and setting a glowing example for them to follow.
• Closely monitoring your team’s performance gives you the insight to give praise where it’s due, provide constructive feedback, and nurture talent.
• You oversee all aspects of finance and admin procedures with ease. No detail goes unchecked.
• You’ll establish strong relationships with stakeholders and customers.
• Having a wealth of experience in a similar role means you are able to recognise when team members need help and you’ll support where needed.
• You’re a natural leader, communicating brilliantly with your team and delegating to hit and exceed targets.
• Keeping a watchful eye over customer feedback means your team is always adapting to maintain high standards and improve where necessary.
• Peak season can get pretty busy, but you thrive when working under pressure.
• Communication is key, and you recognise the importance of being an effective listener - ensuring everyone is on the same page while remaining approachable and informative.

The Victoria Inn is a scenic pub, complete with comfy rooms, that’s set in the heart of Salcombe, a stone’s throw from the banks of Kingsbridge Estuary.

You’ll be working in one South Devon’s most beautiful coastal destinations, rightly designated an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Are you a versatile Assistant Head Chef with experience of working in a fast-paced environment? Join our talented kitchen team and you’ll be working alongside passionate people, with locally sourced produce, to provide high quality food that delights our guests. As Assistant Head Chef, you will support your Head Chef in leading our talented kitchen team while ensuring the correct procedures are followed and specifications for each dish are precisely met. You will utilise the flexibility enabled by our menu writing processes, to help adapt our offer to meet the needs of our business and our guests.
