Plan and design innovative menu items, including seasonal specials and catering options, while maintaining alignment with customer preferences and market trends. Manage the kitchen’s daily operations, including overseeing food preparation, portion control, stock rotation, and the timely ordering of ingredients to ensure freshness. Ensure strict compliance with health, hygiene, and food safety regulations, conducting regular kitchen audits to maintain the highest standards of cleanliness and sanitation. Lead, train, and supervise kitchen staff, delegating tasks effectively to ensure smooth and efficient kitchen workflows during service. Monitor kitchen costs, including food and labor, and implement strategies to improve operational efficiency and profitability. Work closely with front-of-house staff to ensure coordination and timely service during peak hours and special events, contributing to customer satisfaction. Oversee the preparation and execution of special events, banquets, and catering services, ensuring the highest standards of quality and presentation for all dishes. Qualification & Experience Certificate or diploma in Culinary Arts, Hospitality, or a related field. A minimum of 2 years of experience as a Chef in a high-volume kitchen, preferably specializing in Indian cuisine. Expertise in traditional and modern Indian cooking techniques, ingredients, and spice profiles. Strong menu development, cost estimation, and inventory management skills. Ability to work under pressure and efficiently manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment. Excellent communication, leadership, and teamwork skills. Comprehensive knowledge of Australian food hygiene and safety regulations. Experience in managing kitchen staff, including training and development.
