Job Summary:
Ensures that an organization complies with all relevant laws and regulations. This role involves monitoring legislative activities, developing compliance strategies, and representing the organization in interactions with government entities.
Responsibilities:
Monitoring and Influencing Legislation: Keep track of legislative and regulatory activities at local, state, and federal levels.
Strategic Planning: Develop and implement strategies to advance the organization’s mission and objectives with the government.
Research and Analysis: Conduct research on public policy, legal statutes, and proposed legislation.
Representation: Represent the organization in meetings and public hearings with government officials and other stakeholders.
Communication: Prepare and present reports to senior management on the status of government relations and legislative initiatives.
Networking: Maintain an effective network of contacts within government and related organizations.
Advising Executives: Brief executives on policy changes and political issues that might impact the organization.
Qualifications:
Education: A bachelor’s degree in Political Science, Law, Public Administration, or a related field. Advanced degrees can be beneficial.
Proven experience as a Governmental Regulations Officer or in a similar role.
Skills: Strong understanding of government processes, excellent communication and negotiation skills, analytical and problem-solving abilities
