At RAF Brize Norton in Oxfordshire, Serco has been providing multi-activity and engineering support since 1997. Working alongside Service personnel and tasked by the Military Chain of Command in Aviation Fuels, our Fuel Operators work in support of unit fuelling tasks at RAF Brize Norton

Main Accountabilities:

- Physical refuelling/defueling services of all refuelling and defueling tasks for all RAF Brize Norton based aircraft, visiting aircraft and road tankers
- Undertake fuels assurance and governance checks to assure fuel quality. Facilitate and action husbandry in all areas
- Co-ordination, and quality assurance checks of the fuel pipeline system receipt line for the fuel receipt process
- Tank to tank transfer of fuel between Bulk Fuel Instillations, and the undertaking of Fuel Movement

Here at RAF Brize Norton in Oxfordshire, Serco has been providing multi-activity and engineering support since 1997. RAF Brize Norton is the largest operating base within the Royal Air Force, providing air transport and air-to-air refuelling to the RAF fleet, and as an Administrator in our exceptionally busy Post Room, you’ll contribute enormously to the vital work carried out here. The job will touch on all walks of station life. You’ll also be part of the wider ‘whole force’ team, with c.5,800 service personnel, c.1,200 contractors and c.300 civil servants on site.
Working alongside the larger Serco Brize Norton team, the Mail Room Administrator will be responsible for assisting with the daily operation of the Station Post Room and mail delivery services.
Working collaboratively and effectively with other staff members in the section, as a team you will be responsible for maintaining great customer service standards, adhering to authorised person procedures and policies as well as complying with contractual requirements as directed by the leadership team.

Main Accountabilities:

- Ensure the delivery of effective, efficient, “right first time every time” output to our customers that follows the Serco values and behaviours.
- Provide excellent customer service (by telephone, email and in person).
- Ensure that all mail is treated appropriately and in line with local Post Room work instructions and in accordance with JSP 440.
- Assist with the delivery of mail around the Station and cover for the messenger during periods of absence.

Main responsibilities of the role include:


- Maintain a record of daily duties in a pocketbook which will be maintained daily and may be requested to recall incidents in a Court of Law.

There is currently a vacancy for an Airfield Vehicle Driver at RAF Brize Norton.
Airfield Vehicle Drivers are responsible to Serco’s ASMT Operational Manager, via the shift supervisor or their deputy.
The job requires the completion of all delegated tasks in line with the contract.

As part of this you’ll:

- Conform to safe working practices and ensure that any discrepancies are reported through the management chain.
- Undertake specific non-driving duties, i.e., vehicle cleaning and general husbandry of vehicles and work areas.
- Undertake training provided, to ensure competency and currency on specialist vehicles operated by ASMT, including new models of existing equipment.
- Operate any vehicle you have been trained and licensed to drive.
- Carrying out any other tasks as directed by the management chain.

Serco have a new role as a Coach/Bus Driver. You will be required to undertake all necessary driving duties associated with the contract Serco has at RAF Brize Norton.
Main Accountabilities:

- Ensure that EU/GB driver and duty hours are fully complied with and where applicable, tachograph or GB Driver logbooks are fully completed.

- Wearing Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) appropriate to the task inaccordance with associated Risk Assessment.
- Ensure the prompt reporting to a supervisor of any damage to the assigned vehicle and the prompt reporting of any accidents or incidents in accordance with company policies.
- Participate in professional training and development activities, as directed.
- Notify the MT Manager or a nominated person whenever issues emerge that require their attention in respect of safety, risk, compliance, or standards or if a matter is likely to cause a delay to a forecasted job completion or training requirements.

Aircraft Structures Technician

At RAF Brize Norton in Oxfordshire, Serco has been providing multi-activity and engineering support since 1997. Serco proudly supports the RAF and MoD, supplying around 20 different services onsite, from engine and aircraft maintenance, to fuelling and ground control services. RAF Brize Norton is the largest operating base within the Royal Air Force, providing air transport and air-to-air refuelling to the RAF fleet, and as an Aircraft Structures Technician, you will contribute enormously to the vital work carried out here. You’ll also be part of the wider team, with 5,800 service personnel, 1,200 contractors and 300 civil servants on site.

The bay is responsible for RAF Brize Norton C-17 aircraft airframe structural and composite repairs, metal fabrication, and damage assessments. Work is carried out within the structures bay and on the aircraft, both in the hangar and on the line. The team are required to work at height and in confined spaces on the C17 aircraft.


Main Accountabilities:


- Current working knowledge and experience of Aircraft Structural Metal rectification on aircraft and in the bay environment. Including damage assessment, frame skin replacements, fuselage damage repairs, structural component changes, corrosion removal, manufacture of repair parts, drilling, countersinking, riveting, close tolerance work and bolting of replacement parts
- Competency to operate workshop machines and hand tools used in airframe structural work and metal repair.
- Interpret and work from engineering drawings, technical manuals, and work instructions.
- Functional IT skills to access technical information and maintenance records
- Document all work performed and maintain accurate records.
- Collaborate effectively with other team members and departments to ensure efficient workflow and high-quality output.
- Ensure that all repairs and rectification tasks are correctly certified and that records of maintenance carried out are correct and complete.


What you need to do the job:
· Working knowledge and experience of Aircraft Structural Metal rectification on aircraft and in the bay environment.


- Will have successfully completed a recognised Civilian Engineering or Aviation BTEC/ONC/ NVQ Level 3, or equivalent, or military course in Aircraft Engineering.


- Previous experience in Armed Forces or industry on aircraft engineering maintenance/ repair activities.

Main Accountabilities:

Main responsibilities of the role include:


- Maintain a record of daily duties in a pocketbook which will be maintained daily and may be requested to recall incidents in a Court of Law.
- Control the access and egress of vehicle traffic, military personnel, visitors, contractors and Unit employees at the RAF Brize Norton main gate.
- Control the flow of traffic/pedestrian.
- Checking ID cards and vehicle permits to ensure only permitted individuals gain access to the unit.
- Assist in the search of vehicles, visitors and baggage when delegated.
- Provide welcoming service ascertaining the requirements of individual visitors, contractors or deliveries and on the production of the relevant ID.
- Respond to and carry out emergency procedures as and when delegated.
- Provided a vehicle escort service to delivery/collection vehicles for specific locations on site.



What you’ll need to do the role:


- UK Driving License for car (essential) no more than 6 points.

Aircraft Structures Bay Composite and Metal Supervisor

At RAF Brize Norton in Oxfordshire, Serco has been providing multi-activity and engineering support since 1997. Serco proudly supports the RAF and MoD, supplying around 20 different services onsite, from engine and aircraft maintenance, to fuelling and ground control services. RAF Brize Norton is the largest operating base within the Royal Air Force, providing air transport and air-to-air refuelling to the RAF fleet, and as a Structures and Composite Bay Supervisor, you will contribute enormously to the vital work carried out here. You’ll also be part of the wider team, with 5,800 service personnel, 1,200 contractors and 300 civil servants on site.

The bay is responsible for RAF Brize Norton C-17 aircraft airframe structural and composite repairs, metal fabrication, and damage assessments. Work is carried out within the structures bay and on the aircraft, both in the hangar and on the line. The team are required to work at height and in confined spaces on the C17 aircraft.


Main Accountabilities:


- Supervise, inspect, certify the work, and ensure the completeness of the metal repair tasks.
- Competency to operate workshop machines and hand tools used in airframe structural work and composite repair.
- Perform structural fitting tasks on military aircraft, ensuring all work meets the highest quality and safety standards.
- Interpret and work from engineering drawings, technical manuals, and work instructions.
- Use hand and power tools to assemble, fit, and install structural components.
- Conduct inspections of structural components to ensure proper fit and alignment.
- Document all work performed and maintain accurate records.
- Collaborate effectively with other team members and departments to ensure efficient workflow and high-quality output.
- Ensure that all repairs and rectification tasks are correctly certified and that records of maintenance carried out are correct and complete. Report to the Structures Bay Manager any condition of the aircraft (or component), which could hazard safety.
- Must implement and promote a “Zero Harm” Open Reporting Safety Culture where all individuals are willing and able to report any issue or event which they believe has or could potentially lead to a Safety risk.



What you need to do the job:


- Will have successfully completed a recognised Civilian Engineering or Aviation BTEC/ONC/ NVQ Level 3, or equivalent, or military course in Aircraft Engineering and Metal repairs.



- Previous experience in Armed Forces or industry on full time supervision of aircraft engineering maintenance/ repair activities.

At RAF Brize Norton in Oxfordshire, Serco has been providing multi-activity and engineering support since 1997. Serco proudly support the RAF and MoD, supplying around 20 different services onsite, from engine and aircraft maintenance, to fuelling and ground control services.
Serco are recruiting for a Fuel Operative. Working alongside Service personnel and tasked by the Military Chain of Command in Aviation Fuels, our Fuel Operators work in support of unit fuelling tasks at RAF Brize Norton

Main Accountabilities:


- Physical refuelling/defueling services of all refuelling and defueling tasks for all RAF Brize Norton based aircraft, visiting aircraft and road tankers
- Undertake fuels assurance and governance checks to assure fuel quality. Facilitate and action husbandry in all areas
- Co-ordination, and quality assurance checks of the fuel pipeline system receipt line for the fuel receipt process
- Tank to tank transfer of fuel between Bulk Fuel Instillations, and the undertaking of Fuel Movement
- Maintain a positive “Zero Harm” culture with open honest reporting of Near Misses and safety related occurrences
What you need to do the job:


- Cat C1 driving licence
- Must have the required colour perception to gain an Airfield Driving Permit (test available through an optician)

We are operational 24/6 and you’ll cover various early and late shifts, 35hrs pw. Flexibility is key as due to the nature of role there are a range of different working arrangements & additional hours. There will be days when your finishing time could be unpredictable, however, we operate a rota basis (provided 12 weeks in advance) that allows you the flexibility to enjoy meaningful time off to do the things you enjoy & love.

About the Role:
As a PCO at our court, you’ll work as part of team to provide safe and secure escorting & custody services, to detainees, focusing on the physical and mental wellbeing of those in your care.

During court you’ll be responsible for every aspect of their care until it’s time for them to return to custody or to be released. Key duties include, accompanying defendants in court rooms and cells; searching property or people; ensuring food and drink is available and completing paperwork and data entry for the day.

What you need to do the job!
Our current PCO’s come to us with different work & life experiences, what you’ve done before doesn’t matter, what matters is that you’re committed to making a difference to the lives of others – the rest you will learn during your 5 1/2-weeks training course and through our experienced colleagues.

Ideally, you’ll have a current valid driver's license, be reasonably fit and have good written and verbal communications skills, using those skills to manage and control all situations. Our roles would suit those who have a particular interest in criminology or psychology.

Main purpose:

Reporting to the Assistant Director Operations, the Logistics Support will be based at our Secure Warehousing facility and will be responsible for providing a business support function to maintain quality assurance and health and safety for the Secure Contracts business area.
The post holder will be required to support the wider Serco Secure Contracts portfolio, working closely with the Assistant Director, Operations, and Senior Management Team to provide business support including, but not limited to, purchasing, maintaining the support function for the contract and will be a contract representative for a variety of employee wellbeing and quality assurance forums.

Acting as the primary contact for certain internal and external communications, will also act as communications champion and represent the employee partnership forum. The post holder will also be responsible for promoting diversity and inclusion within the business.
Additional duties include, but are not restricted to, championing risk within the business, health, and safety compliance both at our operating site and for any remote workers, and site security.

The post holder will be required to be part of an on all call roster on a one in four basis, to respond to alarm activations out of hours.

What you will need for the role:


- Must be IT literate, with a good demonstrable working knowledge of SharePoint, MS Office 365, including Outlook, Word and especially Excel, as well as being able to use the internal asset management system (for which training will be provided).
- Experience of quality assurance and/or health and safety environment.
- Experience in delivering projects and change management would be desirable.
- An understanding of the UK Domestic driver (UK) regulations
