Rapid Response Coach – Restart

Our Employment, Skills and Enterprise business provides support to citizens, from supporting the unemployed into sustainable work, to upskilling those with low or no vocational skills, so they can progress in work.
We are recruiting a Rapid Response Coach to work closely with our In Work Support Lead and Employer Engagement Team on the Restart scheme in Cardiff. As a Rapid Response Coach, you will be required to have excellent labour market knowledge and will work closely with our employer engagement team, ensuring participants are ready to re-enter employment by ensuring all participants have an up to date CV, relevant training and all barriers have been overcome.
Key Accountabilities
- Sourcing high quality employment opportunities aligned to customer needs and aspirations
- Working with participants who have re-joined the Restart Scheme due to job loss, helping them back into sustainable employment
- Discussing their needs/barriers to assess the support they need to move them back into work, assigning training to overcome these barriers
- Referring to appropriate services or organisations to upskill participants in existing roles
- Managing and maintaining diary and caseload to ensure compliance
- Mapping participant to roles that are based within their area and sector they are looking to work in
- Work collaboratively with employer engagement team to directly refer re-engaged participants with appropriate roles
- Support on network-wide initiatives to respond to local labour market needs and identify opportunities to fill.
- Be aware of/ respond to local labour market needs and identify opportunities to fill
- Work with DWP’s National and local Employer Services, Growth Hubs, Local Authorities and JCPs to identify sector-specific growth, inward investment plans and skills shortages to enable network to prepare customers for future employment opportunities.
- Effective networking and building awareness of local strategic priorities to identify local or regional business development opportunities
- RRC should be able to provide one to one coaching, interview prep and mentoring
- Ensure all barriers have been overcome to aid in supporting the participants to re-enter employment.
What you need to do the role?
- Previous experience and successful track record in commercial recruitment, sales, business development or employer engagement
- Experience of working in a performance target driven environment.
- Good knowledge of local labour market and growth sectors
- Ability to effectively communicate at all levels, using a variety of communication methods (spoken, written, behaviour)
- Excellent negotiation and influencing skills
- Always presents a professional approach, while tailoring style according to the audience
- Self-motivated, high-energy individual with a demonstrable passion for engaging with employers to achieve goals
- Ability to proactively manage own workload and multiple priorities with excellent organisation and time management skills
