As a Process Operative, you will be at the centre of their production process making sure the nuclear fuel is produced to the highest standard.
You will have the opportunity to work alongside our experienced teams.
Our client has been safely producing nuclear fuel since 1946 and has the facilities to manufacture fuel for most types of nuclear reactors. They were the first plant in the world to make nuclear fuel for commercial power stations and has produced several million fuel elements, supplying products and services for reactors in 11 countries. Around 32% of the UK's low carbon electricity comes from fuel manufactured at with our client's organisation.

About the role
Job title - Process Operative
Duration - Temporary 12 month contract
Start date - ASAP (subject to being medically and security cleared)
Shift patterns - 12.5 hour continuous 4 on 6 off (2 nights, 2 days), 12.5 hour non continuous or 5 x2 (alternating weeks of 7am-3pm and then the next week 3pm-11pm).
Pay rate - £21.54 - £24.31 per hour (PAYE) dependant on role/shift.

Job Description
The organisation works in a highly regulated environment. Therefore, training will be provided in all areas of work.
- Responsible for the operation and set up of equipment and to make sure they are working in accordance with quality standards, SOPs and production schedules
- Asset care for machinery
- Detailed inspection operations
- Material sampling and/or laboratory operations
- Manual handling
- Process monitoring
- Escalating issues if there is an issue with a process or piece of equipment
Essential skills
- Able to work to health and safety standards
- Able to follow written and verbal procedures and ask questions if unsure
- Experience of working to regulations and/or mandatory operating procedures
Desirable skills
- Experience working in a manufacturing/chemical environment or hands on environment
- Operating auto and semi auto machinery
- Worked in a team environment
Additional information
- Be able to wear full personal protective equipment
- Required to undertake security clearance prior to starting, which includes a disclosure and barring service (DBS) check
- Required to become a monitored worker under the ionising radiation regulations
